The Board of Trustees of the City of Anaheim do ordain as follows: WHEREAS, there was filed with the Board of Trustees of the City of Ana- heim, a municipal corporation of the State of California, on the 23rd day of September, 1926, a petition signed by Ira B. Millar and twenty-eight (28) other electors residing in the territor3 hereinafter described, requesting that the Board of Trustees of the City o: Anaheim call a special election to b4 held within the boundaries of that cer, tain inhabited and unincorporated ter ritory situate within the County o Orange, State of California, and here inafter particularly described, for th, purpose of submitting to the qualifies electors of said territory the propositio ent city boundary and along the easterly line of said Lot 4 to the easterly and westerly center lies of said Lot 4; thence westwardly tO the center of said Lot 4, thence southNsardly along the nortneily and southerly center line of said Lot 4 and Lot 8, and said line ex= tended, to the center line of East Santa Ana Street; thence west- i wardly along said center line of East Santa Ana Street to the east- erly line of South East Street; thence southwardly along said ead- erly line of South East Street to the northerly line of East Vermont Avenue; thence westwardly along the northerly line of East and West Vermont Avenues to the easterly i line of South West Street; thence southwardly along said easterly line of South West Street to the center line of said West Vermont Avenue; thence westwardly along said center line of West Vermont Avenue extended, and along the southerly line of Lot 31, to the East line of Walnut Street; thence south along said east line of Wal- nut Street to the place of beginning, and WHEREAS, said petition had signed thereto twenty-nine (29) signatures, and was accompanied .by the affidavit of Ira B. Millar in which said affidavit said Ira B. Millar averred that said petition was signed by not less than one-fourth in number of the qualified electors who reside in said territory, and that each and all of said signatures were signed and subscribed to said potition in the presence of said affiant, the said Ira B. Millar, and that said affiant was personally acquainted with each and all of the persons who signed said petition, and that, said signatures were the bona fide signatures of the persons whose names they purported to be, and WHEREAS, after receiving said peti- tion and on the 23rd day of September, 1926, said Board of Trustees proceeded to examine and did examine said Ira B. Millar, who then and there testified under oath that the facts set forth in said petition and in his affidavit ac- companying the same were true, and then and there testified as to the num- ber of qualified electors residing within the boundaries of said territory herein- before described, the genuineness of the signatures to said petition, and all other matters connected therewith and relating thereto. Whereupon from the evidence ifitro- duced at said hearing, and at said time, said Board of Trustees finds the facts as follows: FIRST: That the territory described in said petition and asked to be an- nexed to the City of Anaheim is in- habited territory, and that said terri- tory is located in the County of Orange, State of California, and that no portion thereof lies within the boundaries of any municipal corporation and the same is contiguous to the City of Ana- heim. SECOND: That said petition was signed by not less than one-fourth the number of the qualified electors resid- ing within the territory described therein, as shown upon the register of voters of said County of Orange, and WHEREAS, the Board of Trustees of the City of Anaheim deems it to the advantage and to the best interests of said territory, the boundaries of which; are hereinbefore described, and the in- habitants residing therein, and to th( City of Anaheim and its inhabitants t( annex to, incorporate in and make E part of the City of Anaheim the sail lection respectively, and their com- iensation is hereby fixed at Five ($5.00) dollars each for said election. SECTION 5. The City Clerk of the City of Anaheim is hereby ordered ands directed to give notice of such election in "The Fullerton Tribune," a news- paper of general circulation, printed and published outside of said City of Anaheim, but in the County of Orange, being the County in which the territory so proposed to be annexed is situate, at least once a week for _a period of four successive weeks next preceding the date of such election, which said notice shall set forth and contain the date of such election, the proposition to be submitted at such special election, to -wit: That it is proposed to annex to, incorporate in and made a part of said municipal corporation, the said City of Anaheim, the territory sought to bE annexed, a description of the territory proposed to be annexed, the designation of the name and words of identification of said territory as in this ordinance provided for, to -wit: "South and East Addition," the location of the election precinct, the polling place thereof, the election officers appointed to hold and conduct said election, the time of the opening of the polls and the time of closing the polls, which shall be from 6 o'clock A. M. to 7 o'clock P. M. on the day of said election. SECTION 7. NOW THEREFORE: SECTION 1. A Special election shall be held and the same is hereby ordered and called to be held within the limita- tions of the territory described and bounded, as hereinbefore more particu- larly set forth, on"Tuesday, the 11th day of January, 1927, pursuant to the provisions of an Act of the Legislature of the State of California, entitled "An Act to provide for the alteration of the boundaries of and for the annexation of territory to municipal corporations, for the incorporation of such annexed territory in and as a part thereof, and for the districting, government and mu- nicipal control of such annexed terri- tory," approved June 11, 1913, and all acts amendatory thereof and sugpie- mentary thereto. And that at said special election there shall be submitted to the qualified electors residing within the boundaries of said territory, the question of whether said described territory shall be annexed to, incorporated in and made a part of said City of Anaheim. SECTION 2. That said. territory is hereby designated .at "South and East Addition," and said territory shall be referred to and designated upon the ballots to be used at said election, as "South and East Addition."
