RES-2007-145A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM APPROVING A LETTER OF
UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN THE INTERNATIONAL BROTHERHOOD OF ELECTRICAL
WORKERS, LOCAL 47 AND THE CITY OF ANAHEIM
WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim and the International Brotherhood of Electrical
Workers, Local 47, have met and conferred and reached an understanding to add provisions for
a Safety Boot Allowance to the Memorandum of Understanding that is in effect from July 28,
2005 through January 7, 2010, and;
WHEREAS, the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local 47 is in
agreement with the recommendation contained in said Letter of Understanding; and
WHEREAS, as a result thereof, the Letter of Understanding dated August 2,
2007 between the parties has been prepared and signed; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Anaheim does find that it is in the best
interest of the City of Anaheim to approve said Letter of Understanding.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Anaheim that the Letter of Understanding dated August 2, 2007 between the International
Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local 47 and the City of Anaheim, a copy of which is
attached hereto and incorporated by reference herein, is hereby approved.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and adopted by the City Council
of the City of Anaheim this 21st day of August 2007 by the following roll call vote.

LETTER OF UNDERSTANDING
between the
INTERNATIONAL BROTHERHOOD of ELECTRICAL WORKERS, Local 47
and the
CITY OF ANAHEIM
The International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local 47 (IBEW), and the City of Anaheim
(ANAHEIM) have met and conferred and agreed to add provisions for a Safety Boot Allowance to the
Memorandum of Understanding that is in effect from July 28, 2005 through January 7, 2010. Specifically,
the parties have agreed to a new Article to be added to the Memorandum of Understanding:
ARTICLE
SAFETY BOOT ALLOWANCE
nn.1 Beginning January 2008, ANAHEIM shall provide an annual Safety Boot Allowance of
$175 to employees in classifications represented by the IBEW who are required to wear safety
boots with protective toe caps that meet or exceed standards established in the Anaheim Public
Utilities Accident Prevention Manual.
nn.2 It is the intent of the parties to provide the annual Safety Boot Allowance to warehouse
and electric and water field employees. The specific classifications required to wear safety boots
with protective toe caps that meet or exceed standards established in the Anaheim Public Utilities
Accident Prevention Manual shall be determined by ANAHEIM.
nn.3 The annual Safety Boot allowance shall be paid on the first pay period in January to each
employee in a classification designated by ANAHEIM in accordance with nn.2 above at the time
payment is made.
