A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ANAHEIM RATIFYING AND APPROVING THE ACTION OF
THE CHIEF OF POLICE IN SUBMITTING A GRANT
APPLICATION ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM,
WITH THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA, OFFICE OF TRAFFIC
SAFETY, AUTHORIZING THE CHIEF TO EXECUTE ALL
REQUIRED GRANT DOCUMENTS, AND AUTHORIZING
THE ACCEPTANCE OF SUCH GRANT ON BEHALF OF
THE CITY AND AMENDING THE BUDGET FOR FISCAL
YEARS 2007 -08 TO 2010 -2011 ACCORDINGLY.
WHEREAS, the State of California, Office of Traffic Safety (the "Grantor invited
public agencies, including the City of Anaheim, to submit applications for the Federal
Fiscal Year 2008 DUI "Avoid" Grant program to the Grantor (the "Grant and
WHEREAS, on or about April 30, 2007, the Anaheim Chief of Police, on behalf of
the City, submitted an application to Grantor for said Grant; and
WHEREAS, on or about June 27, 2007, the City was awarded the Grant; and
WHEREAS, the City is familiar with the terms, conditions and limitations of the
Grant; and
WHEREAS, the City is willing and able to conform to each of the terms,
conditions and limitations imposed upon the Grant to the City; and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to amend the annual budget of the City to
reflect and incorporate the Grant so awarded to the City, and to increase the annual
appropriations and expenditures in the appropriate City program to reflect such award.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Anaheim as follows:
1. The action of the Anaheim Chief of Police in submitting a grant application for
and on behalf of the City of Anaheim, a public entity established under the
laws of the State of California, is hereby ratified and approved.
2. The Anaheim Chief of Police is authorized to execute any actions necessary
for the purpose of obtaining financial assistance provided by the State of
California Office of Traffic Safety (the "Grantor including any extensions and
amendments thereof.
2. The City Council of the City of Anaheim hereby agrees to, and by this
resolution, does accept the Grant so awarded to the City of Anaheim.
3. The City of Anaheim hereby agrees to comply with each and all of the terms,
conditions and limitations imposed by the Grantor upon said Grant, and the
Anaheim Police Department Chief of Police is hereby authorized and directed
to execute any agreements, assurances, or other documents as may be
necessary in connection with the acceptance of said Grant as may be
required by the Grantor.
4. The annual budget of the City of Anaheim for fiscal year 2007 -08 shall be
amended by increasing the appropriations and authorized expenditures in
Program No. 218- 309 -3012 by approximately $711,209, which is the
estimated amount of funds to be received by the City.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and adopted by the City
Council of the City of Anaheim this 75th day of septeniher• 2007, by the
following roll call vote:
