RES-2007-220WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim and the Service Employees' International Union,
Local 1877 have met and conferred and reached an agreement with respect to certain terms
and conditions of employment for represented employees; and
WHEREAS, the Service Employees' International Union, Local 1877 is in
agreement with the recommendation contained in said Letter of Understanding; and
WHEREAS, as a result thereof, the Letter of Understanding dated November 6,
2007, between the parties has been prepared and signed; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Anaheim does find that it is in the best
interest of the City of Anaheim to approve said Letter of Understanding.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Anaheim that the Letter of Understanding dated November 6, 2007 between the Service
Employees' International Union, Local 1877 and the City of Anaheim, a copy of which is
attached hereto and incorporated by reference herein, is hereby approved.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and adopted by the City Council
of the City of Anaheim this 27th day of November 2007 by the following roll call vote.

LETTER OF UNDERSTANDING
SERVICE EMPLOYEES' INTERNATIONAL UNION, LOCAL 1877
and the
CITY OF ANAHEIM
The Service Employees' International Union, Local 1877, (SEIU) and the City of Anaheim (ANAHEIM) have met
and conferred in good faith and reached an understanding regarding employee wages and other terms and conditions
of employment. The PARTIES have reached an understanding to amend the Memorandum of Understanding
between the PARTIES in effect October 3, 2003 through October 4, 2007 as follows:
1. SEIU and ANAHEIM agree that Appendix "A" Wages will be modified to reflect a 4% base wage increase to
be effective October 5, 2007:

2. SEIU and ANAHEIM agree to amend Article 20 DURATION as follows:
17.1 The terms of this Memorandum are to remain in full force and effect until theme' day of Octobcr 2007
8` day of January, 2009, except that either ANAHEIM or the UNION shall have the right during the
sixty (60) days preceding to Octobcr 4, 2007 January 8, 2009, to give written notice to the other of its
desire to meet and confer with respect to the terms and conditions of this Memorandum. If new terms
and conditions cannot be agreed upon by Octobcr 4, 2007 January 8, 2009, this Memorandum shall

become null and void. Upon adoption of a Resolution approving this Memorandum and the terms
hereof by the City Council of the City of Anaheim, this Memorandum shall be in full force and effect.
