A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM
AUTHORIZING THE FIRE CHIEF OR HIS OR HER DESIGNEE TO ACCEPT
THE TRANSFER OF GRANT FUNDS FROM THE SHERIFF- CORONER OF
THE COUNTY OF ORANGE, AS RECEIVED FROM THE STATE OF
CALIFORNIA THROUGH ITS OFFICE OF HOMELAND SECURITY; TO
EXECUTE ANY AND ALL DOCUMENTS RELATED TO RECEIPT AND
ADMINISTRATION OF SUCH FUNDS AND TO AMEND THE FISCAL
YEAR 2007 -2008 BUDGET ACCORDINGLY.
WHEREAS, the County of Orange, acting through its Sheriff Coroner "Grantor in its
capacity of lead agency for the Orange County Operational Area, has applied for and has received
and accepted a grant from the State of California, acting through its Office of Homeland Security,
to enhance county -wide emergency preparedness as set forth in Fiscal Year 2007 California
Supplement to Federal Program Guidelines and the 2007 Homeland Security Grant programs
(hereinafter the "Grant and
WHEREAS, the terms of the Grant require that the County of Orange use certain grant funds
to purchase equipment or services that will be transferred to the City of Anaheim, as subgrantee, to
be used for Grant purposes;
WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to accept the transfer of the Grant funds to be used in
accordance with the "Agreement to Transfer Property or Funds for 2007 Homeland Security Grant
Program Purposes," (hereinafter "Agreement a copy of which is attached hereto as Exhibit "A"
and is incorporated herein by this reference; and
WHEREAS, the City is familiar with the terms, conditions and limitations of any such
transfer of Grant funds and is willing and able to conform to each of the terms, conditions and
limitations imposed upon any such Grant to the City, in accordance with the Agreement; and
WHEREAS, the City desires to accept the Grant funds; and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to amend the annual budget of the City to reflect and
incorporate any Grant so awarded to the City, and to increase the annual appropriations and
expenditures in the appropriate City program to reflect such award.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Anaheim as
follows:
1. The City Council hereby hereby agrees to and by this Resolution, does accept any and all
such Grant funds transferred or otherwise awarded to the City of Anaheim by Grantor
without further action of the City Council being required therefor, in accordance with the
Agreement as set forth herein above.
2. The City Council of the City of Anaheim hereby agrees to comply with each and all of the
terms, conditions and limitations imposed by the Grantor upon said Grant, and does hereby
authorize and direct the Anaheim Fire Chief, or his designee, to execute for and on behalf
of the City of Anaheim any agreements, assurances, or other documents, including but not
limited to extensions and amendments, as may be required by the Grantor.
3. The City Council further authorizes and directs the Anaheim Fire Chief, or his designee, to
take any and all actions necessary to obtain, distribute, or administer the Grant funds,
including execution of documents, on behalf of the City of Anaheim.
4. The annual budget of the City of Anaheim for fiscal year 2007 -2008 is hereby amended by
increasing the appropriations and authorized expenditures in Program No.2214 in the amount
of $250,401.00, or in such other amount as is equal to the amount of Grant funds to be
received by the City.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and adopted by the City Council of the
City of Anaheim this 8th day of April 2008, by the following roll
