A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM RECOGNIZING THE ANAHEIM RESORT
AND THE DISNEYLAND RESORT AS "SPECIAL RESORT
DISTRICTS" AND REQUESTING CALTRANS TO INSTALL
DESTINATION SIGNS THEREFOR
WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim desires to promote awareness of
commercial and recreation activities of the areas previously
designated and currently known, respectively, as The Anaheim
Resort and the Disneyland Resort, as such areas are defined
herein; and
WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim supports efforts to promote
expeditious regional travel to and from its major regions of
employment and entertainment; and
WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim supports the use of freeway/
corridor signing as appropriate for enhancing motorists'
awareness of important resort destinations within the City; and
WHEREAS, the California Department of Transportation
(Caltrans} is authorized to install destination signs to provide
directions to said destinations to the motoring public pursuant
the provisions of Caltrans Traffic Manual Section 4-04-13.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the
City of Anaheim does hereby designate both The Anaheim Resort,
the approximately 555-acre commercial, recreation, hotel and
Convention Center area, and The Disneyland Resort, the
approximately 490-acre theme park, hotel, parking and future
expansion areas in and around the interchanges between the Route
55, Route 91 and Interstate 5 freeways, as "Special Resort
Districts" of Anaheim.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED. that Caltrans is requested to install
destination signs for said Special Resort Districts in accordance
with Caltrans Traffic Manual Section 4-04.13.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and adopted by the City
Council of the City of Anaheim this lOth day of July , 2001.
