2001-191RESOLUTION NO. 2001R- 191 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM ESTABLISHING A FEE TO PROVIDE POLICE CLEARANCE LETTERS FOR OTHER THAN EMPLOYMENT PURPOSES. WHEREAS, in accordance with Penal Code §§13300(c) (8) and 13320 et seq., the Anaheim Police Department wishes to provide police clearance letters to individuals in need of such letters in connection with immigration, visa, foreign adoption and other non-employment purposes; and WHEREAS, the City Council desires to establish a fee for said service as hereinafter set forth; and WHEREAS, the City Council hereby finds and declares that adoption of this fee is exempt from the provisions of the California Environmental Quality Act pursuant to Section 21080(b) (8) of the Public Resources Code and California Code of Regulations Section 15273 in that said fee does not exceed the City's reasonable cost in providing police clearance letters; and WHEREAS, prior to approving said fees, the City Council has held at least one public meeting at which oral or written presentations could be made concerning said proposed fee as part of a regularly scheduled meeting of the City Council; and WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim has heretofore complied with the applicable requirements of Chapter 8 of Division 1 of Title 7 of the Government Code of the State of California entitled Procedures for Adopting Various Fees; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council that the fee to provide police clearance letters for other than employment purposes shall be $10.00 per clearance letter.
