A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ANAHEIM RESCINDING PERMIT PARKING FOR ALBERTA
STREET IN PERMIT - ELIGIBLE PARKING DISTRICT NO. 20
( "NORTH ROSE BUSH VINE ")
WHEREAS, Section 14.32.450 of Chapter 14.32 of Title 14 of the Anaheim
Municipal Code authorizes the City Council to, by resolution, designate any streets, or portions
thereof, as "Permit Parking Only" streets; and
WHEREAS, City Council Policy Number 5.7 (the "Council Policy ") sets forth a
process to create a Pennit- Eligible Parking District, and, following approval of the District,
establishing a process enabling individual streets within the identified District boundary to
request implementation of permit parking; and
WHEREAS, the City Council previously adopted Resolution Number 2011 -046,
restricting parking on Alberta Street to permit parking only in Permit - Eligible Parking District
No. 20 ( "District No. 20 "); and
WHEREAS, due to the limit on the number of permits per household, permit
parking on Alberta Street within District 20 is no longer desirable; and
WHEREAS, Council Policy sets forth a process by which Permit Parking
established on Streets may be rescinded; and
WHEREAS, the steps recommended in the Council Policy have been duly
followed to rescind Permit Parking on Alberta Street in District No. 20, which areas are
described and depicted in attached Exhibit "A" and incorporated herein by this reference; and
WHEREAS, representatives of the community have met with the Neighborhood
Services District Team and the Traffic and Transportation Manager, or his designee, to discuss
removal of permit parking on Alberta Street in District No. 20; and
WHEREAS, a survey was sent to determine if residents are in favor of rescinding
permit parking on Alberta Street in District No. 20, and a minimum 30% response rate among
single family homes was achieved with a super majority of returned surveys in favor of
removing permit parking from those streets in conformance with the Council Policy; and
WHEREAS, the City Council hereby finds and determines that permit parking on
Alberta Street in District No. 20 is no longer desirable.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Anaheim, that vehicular parking on the following described street shall no longer be restricted to
permit parking:
Alberta Street on both sides of the street from Vine Street to the westerly
terminus.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and adopted by the City Council
of the City of Anaheim this 20th day of n 2011, by the following roll call vote:
AYES: Mayor Tait, Council Members Sidhu, Eastman, Galloway and Murray
