RES-2012-002 RESOLUTION NO. 2012- 002
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM
AMENDING CERTAIN PERSONNEL RULES COVERING MANAGEMENT,
CONFIDENTIAL AND NON - REPRESENTED PART TIME EMPLOYEES
WHEREAS, the Human Resources Director has recommended in a staff report
dated Januaryl0, 2012, that certain Personnel Rule be amended in the manner hereinafter set
forth; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Anaheim does find that amending
such Personnel Rules is in the best interest of the City of Anaheim.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Anaheim as follows:
That, Section 23.61.3 of Personnel Rule 23.6, Pensions, be, hereby added as
follows:
"Section 23.61.3 Management full -time City employees hired subsequent to 1/10/2012
shall pay the entire statutorily required employee retirement contribution of eight percent (8 %)
and such contribution will not be reportable as compensation to CaIPERs in accordance with
Government Code §20636 (c) (4). In addition, these employees will participate in the cost
sharing of the employer rate as set forth in section 23.61.2 (ii) and 23.61.2 (iii), but such
participation will not begin unless the proportional cost sharing attributed to the employee's
share exceeds seven percent (7 %) and such cost share will only apply to the excess above the
seven percent (7 %)."
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this Resolution shall be effective immediately
upon its adoption by the City Council.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that upon adoption of this Resolution by the City
Council any other Resolutions or rules in conflict shall be rescinded to the extent they conflict
with the provisions of this Resolution.

of the City of Anaheim this 10th day of January, 2012, by the following roll call vote:
AYES: Mayor Tait, Council Members Galloway, Sidhu, Eastman and Murray
