RES-2012-019 RESOLUTION NO. 2012- 019
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ANAHEIM WAIVING BUILDING PLAN CHECK, PERMIT AND
INSPECTION FEES AND OTHER PERMIT - RELATED FEES
APPLICABLE TO THE DREAMSCAPE "TOO" AND GOALS
GARDEN "TOO" PROJECTS.
WHEREAS, the organization GOALS (Growth Opportunities through Athletics,
Learning, and Service), desires to develop a youth sports complex and a community garden on
property owned by the City of Anaheim; the Dreamscape "Too" and GOALS Garden "Too"
projects (the "Projects "); and
WHEREAS, GOALS is a nonprofit corporation which provides free youth
development and sports programs for low income youth in the Anaheim area; and
WHEREAS, the Dreamscape "Too" project is proposed to be developed on a City -
owned parcel located at 1160 North Homer Street, and involves the development of an outdoor
youth sports complex including a synthetic ice rink, a full sized basketball court, a jogging track
and a multi - purpose sports field to accommodate roller hockey, volleyball, soccer, lacrosse, and
other sports activities; and
WHEREAS, the GOALS Garden "Too" project is proposed to be developed on a
City -owned parcel located at 1102 North Homer Street, and involves the development of a
community garden with trellis structures and raised planter beds; and
WHEREAS, GOALS and the City are in the process of negotiating lease agreements
pertaining to GOALS proposed use of the City -owned property; and
WHEREAS, David Wilk, Executive Director of GOALS, has requested that the City
waive building plan check, permit and inspection fees and other permit- related fees applicable to
the Projects; and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to waive building plan check, permit and
inspection fees and other permit- related fees applicable to the Projects.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM DOES
HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1.
The City Council of the City of Anaheim does hereby waive building plan check,
permit and inspection fees and other permit- related fees applicable to the Dreamscape "Too" and
GOALS Garden "Too" projects.
SECTION 2.
Neither this Resolution nor anything contained herein shall be construed as amending
or modifying any existing fee resolution of the City of Anaheim.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and adopted by the City Council of
the City of Anaheim this 28th day of February , 2012, by the following roll call vote:
