INTRODUCTION OF VISITORS AND COMMUNICATIONS–None A. Written Communication –None Unscheduled Oral Communication from the Public –None B. APPROVAL OF MINUTES–Vice Chair Manes presented the April 25,2012Minutes to the Commissioners for changes or corrections. There being none, Vice Chair Manes accepted the minutes as presented. ACTIVITY REPORTS A. ParksActivity Report-March/April–Larry Pascopresented the report.Larry Pasco and Lynn Smith answered questions regarding the Cinco de Mayo event. Lynn Smith reported the eventreceived a record financial return and was a successful, calm and family oriented event. Larry Pasco reported the setup and cleanup work completed by the new contractor went well. B. Recreation and Human Services Park Ranger Report–Lynn Smith presented the reportand answered questions regarding dogs off theirleash and vendors at the parks. C. Parks Capital Project Progress Report–Pamela Galerapresented the report and provided updates on the following project: Stoddard Park Play Area–There were approximately 200 volunteers that helped on ‘build day’ to complete the play area project. Staff worked with KaBOOM!, Anaheim Family YMCA, Disneyand volunteers to complete the project on May 19, 2012. D. Senior Citizen Sub-Committee Report–None NEW BUSINESS A.FY2012/2013 Proposed Budget Approval–Lynn Smith and Larry Pasco presented the proposed budget report for Parks, Recreation, Human and Neighborhood Services Divisions of the Community Services Departmentand answered questions regarding the personnel, operating and capital expense budgets for the divisions.Lynn Smith reported the Recreation, Human and Neighborhood Services Division’s proposed budget will maintain a consistent level of service from FY 2011/12 with no program/servicereductions. Larry Pasco reported the Parks Division’s proposed budget will have no reductions for FY2012/13. ï Parks and Recreation Commission Minutes May 23, 2012 Commissioner Brennanstatedthe proposed budget was very complex and due to the Commission’s trust that the professional staff have characterizedand presented, to the best of their abilities, the budget information accuratelyto the Commission,hemotionedto acceptthe FY2012/2013 Proposed Budgetin support of the Department/City.Commissioner Vadodaria seconded the motion. Motion passedunanimously. INFORMATIONAL ITEMS– Lynn Smith announced the following: Tiny Tot Graduation will be heldat Brookhurst Community Center this evening, May 23. rd Vice Chair Manes announcedthe following: 20Annual Children’s Festival was a success; th Greek Festival was a well attended event; Paint Your Heart Out was able to paint 22 homes.
