RES-2012-115 RESOLUTION NO. 2012 - 115 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM AUTHORIZING THE CHIEF OF POLICE OR HIS DESIGNEE TO SUBMIT A GRANT APPLICATION ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM TO THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE, OFFICE OF JUSTICE PROGRAMS, FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 2012 ENHANCED COLLABORATIVE MODEL TO COMBAT HUMAN TRAFFICKING GRANT PROGRAM, AND AUTHORIZING THE CHIEF TO EXECUTE ALL REQUIRED GRANT DOCUMENTS AND TO ACCEPT THE GRANT ON BEHALF OF THE CITY, AND AMENDING THE BUDGET FOR FISCAL YEAR 2012 -13 ACCORDINGLY. WHEREAS, The State of California, U.S. Department of Justice, Office of Justice Programs, (the "Grantor ") has heretofore invited public agencies, including the City of Anaheim, to submit applications for the Fiscal Year 2012 Enhanced Collaborative Model to Combat Human Trafficking grant program to the Grantor (the "Grant "); and WHEREAS, on March 30, 2012, the Chief of Police for the City of Anaheim, by and through his designee, submitted an application on behalf of the City of Anaheim to the Grantor for said Grant; and WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim is familiar with the terms, conditions and limitations of any such Grant; and WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim is willing and able to conform to each of the terms, conditions and limitations imposed upon the City of Anaheim pursuant to said Grant; and WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim has been awarded the Grant and desires to accept the Grant; and WHEREAS, the City Council desires to amend the annual budget of the City of Anaheim to reflect and incorporate the Grant that has been awarded to the City of Anaheim, and to increase the annual appropriations and expenditures in the appropriate City of Anaheim program to reflect such award. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Anaheim as follows: 1. The Anaheim Chief of Police or his designee is hereby authorized to submit a grant application for and on behalf of the City of Anaheim, a public entity established under the laws of the State of California, and the Anaheim Chief of Police is authorized to execute any documents and to take any actions necessary for the purpose of applying for and obtaining financial assistance provided by the U.S. Department of Justice, Office of Justice Programs (the "Grantor "), including execution of any Agreements or other documents required to obtain such funds and any extensions and amendments thereto. 2. The City Council of the City of Anaheim hereby agrees to, and by this Resolution does, accept any such Grant funds awarded to the City of Anaheim without further action of the City Council being required therefor. 3. The City of Anaheim hereby agrees to comply with each and all of the terms, conditions and limitations imposed by the Grantor upon said Grant, and the Anaheim Chief of Police is hereby authorized and directed to execute any agreements, assurances, or any other documents as may be necessary or required by the Grantor in connection with the application for and acceptance of said Grant, if such Grant is awarded to the City. 4. The annual budget of the City of Anaheim for Fiscal Year 2012 -13 shall be amended by increasing the appropriations and authorized expenditures in the appropriate Police Department program account in such amounts as are equal to the amount of Grant funds to be received by the City.
