A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF ANAHEIM ACCEPTING
RESERVE FUNDS FROM THE ORANGE
COUNTY TRANSPORTATION AUTHORITY FOR
THE ANAHEIM POLICE DEPARTMENT
ABANDONED VEHICLE ABATEMENT PROGRAM
WHEREAS, pursuant to Assembly Bill 4144 (codified at
California Vehicle Code Section 22710), the Anaheim Police
Department established its Abandoned Vehicle Abatement Program to
rid the City of abandoned vehicles; and
WHEREAS, there are currently excess reserve funds
available to jurisdictions participating in an abandoned vehicle
program; and
WHEREAS, the Anaheim Police Department Traffic Bureau,
on behalf of the City, applied for and received from the Orange
County Transportation Authority, as the Service Authority for the
Abandoned Vehicle Abatement Program, funds in the amount of
Fifty-Five Thousand Nine Hundred Forty Dollars ($55,940.00) to
purchase a vehicle and miscellaneous equipment that will ensure
timely and accurate accounting of vehicles removed from the
streets of Anaheim.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of
the City of Anaheim does hereby accept the reserve funds in the
amount of Fifty-Five Thousand Nine Hundred Forty Dollars
($55,940.00) from the Orange County Transportation Authority to
purchase a vehicle and miscellaneous equipment that will ensure
timely and accurate accounting of vehicles removed from the
streets of Anaheim.
