RES-2014-129 RESOLUTION NO 2014 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM AUTHORIZING THE CHIEF OF POLICE OR HIS DESIGNEE TO SUBMIT A GRANT APPLICATION ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM TO THE CALIFORNIA OFFICE OF EMERGENCY SERVICES, FOR THE 20�4 URBAN AREAS SECURITY INITIATIVE (UASI) GRANT PROGRAM, AND IF AWARDED, AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF SUCH GRANT ON BEHALF OF THE CITY AND AMENDING THE BUDGET FOR FISCAL YEAR 2014-15 ACCORDINGLY WHEREAS, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (the "Grantor") has heretofore invited public agencies, including the City of Anaheim, to submit applications to the Grantor for the 2014 Urban Areas Security Initiative ("UASI") Grant Program (the "Grant"); and WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim desires to submit an application to the Grantor for said Grant; and WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim is familiar with the terms, conditions and limitations of any such Grant; and WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim is willing and able to conform to each of the terms, conditions and limitations imposed upon any such Grant to the City; and WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim desires to accept any such Grant which may be awarded to the City; and WHEREAS, the City Council desires to amend the annual budget of the City to reflect and incorporate any Grant so awarded to the City, and to increase the annual appropriations and expenditures in the appropriate City program to reflect such award; and WHEREAS, the California Office of Emergency Services, which office administers the Grant on behalf of the Grantor, has advised the Anaheim Police Department Emergency Management Director that prior to grant funding, the City Council must, by resolution, identify the projects scheduled to be funded with the Grant. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Anaheim as follows: 1. The Anaheim Chief of Police or his designee is hereby authorized to submit a grant application for and on behalf of the City of Anaheim, a public entity established under the laws of the State of California, to fund the projects listed in Exhibit A hereto and incorporated herein by reference. 2. The City Council of the City of Anaheim hereby agrees to, and by this resolution, does accept any such Grant so awarded to the City of Anaheim without further action of the City Council being required therefor. 3. The Anaheim Police Department Emergency Management Director, the Anaheim Chief of Police or the Anaheim City Manager are authorized to execute any agreements (including any extensions or amendments to agreements), certificates, assurances, reports or other documents as may be necessary to obtain the Grant funds. 4. The City of Anaheim hereby agrees to comply with each and all of the terms, conditions and limitations imposed by the Grantor upon said Grant, and the Anaheim Police Department Emergency Management Director, the Anaheim Chief of Police or the Anaheim City Manager are hereby authorized and directed to execute any agreements, assurances, or other documents that are required or necessary in connection with the acceptance and implementation of said Grant, if such Grant is awarded to the City. 5. The annual budget of the City of Anaheim for fiscal year 2014-15 shall be amended by increasing the appropriations and authorized expenditures in the Police and Fire Departments in an amount equal to the amount of Grant funds to be received by the City.
