ORDINANCE NO. 5430
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM
AMENDING SECTIONS 1.04.110, 1.04.120
AND 1.04.140, AND REPEALING SECTION
1.04.155 OF CHAPTER 1.04 OF TITLE 1 OF
THE ANAHEIM MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO
DEPARTMENTS OF THE CITY
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM HEREBY ORDAINS
AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1.
That Section 1.04.110 of Chapter 1.04 of Title 1 of the
Anaheim Municipal Code be, and the same is hereby, amended to read as
follows:
"1.04.110 CITY DEPARTMENTS CREATED.

are hereby created the following departments:
City Clerk Department
City Manager Department
City Treasurer Department
Community Development Department
Convention Center Department
Data Processing Department
Finance Department
Fire Department
Human Resources Department
Legal Department
Library Department
Maintenance Department
Parks, Recreation and Community
Planning Department
Police Department
Public Utilities Department
Public Works Department
Stadium Department."
SECTION 2.
Services Department
That Section 1.04.120 of Chapter 1.04 of Title 1 of the
Anaheim Municipal Code be, and the same is hereby, amended to read as
follows:
"1.04.120 PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT.
.010 The Public Works Department shall
be under the supervision of the Director of
Public Works, which office is created. The City
Engineer of the City of Anaheim may serve as,
and have the title of, the Director of Public

Works subject to appointment to such position by
the City Manager and approval thereof by the
City Council pursuant to Section 604 of the
Anaheim City Charter.
.020 The Director of Public Works
shall exercise supervision and control over all
City -owned property, buildings, equipment and
public works, except the maintenance and repair
thereof other than as specified in this section,
and including the construction of all City -owned
buildings and public works.
.030 The Director of Public Works
shall exercise supervision and control over
maintenance of domestic sewers, street cleaning,
refuse collection, maintenance of city streets,
_ maintenance of curbs and sidewalks and
maintenance of minor structures, drains and
culverts.
.040 Any and all engineering
functions, as defined by Section 6731 of the
Business and Professions Code of the State of
California, necessary or required to be
performed in connection with any of the
above-mentioned public works or properties,
shall be done and performed by the City Engineer
of the City of Anaheim, or such other registered
engineer as may be authorized."
SECTION 3.
That Section 1.04.140 of Chapter 1.04 of Title 1 of the
Anaheim Municipal Code be, and the same is hereby, amended to read as
follows:
"1.04.140 MAINTENANCE DEPARTMENT.
.010 The Maintenance Department shall
be under the supervision of the Deputy City
Manager.
.020 The Deputy City Manager shall
exercise supervision and control over the
maintenance and repair of all City -owned
property, buildings, equipment and public works,
including all mechanical and mobile equipment,
welding, building, fabrication of metal parts,
and maintenance of safety devices and other
property, except such City -owned properties or
equipment as are, by the provisions of this
Code, declared to be under the supervision and

control of the head of some other City
Department."
SECTION 4.
That Section 1.04.155 of Chapter 1.04 of Title 1 of the
Anaheim Municipal Code be, and the same is hereby, deleted in its
entirety.
SECTION 5. SEVERABILITY
The City Council of the City of Anaheim hereby declares
that should any section, paragraph, sentence or word of this
ordinance of the Code, hereby adopted, be declared for any reason to
be invalid, it is the intent of the Council that it would have passed
all other portions of this ordinance independent of the elimination
herefrom of any such portion as may be declared invalid.
THE FOREGOING ORDINANCE is approved and adopted by the City
Council of the City of Anaheim this 21st day- of r e 1994.
