COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Vice Chairman Brennan and Commissioners Lappin, Levy, Anderson, and Jensen

CALL TO ORDER Vice Chairman Brennan called the meeting to order at 5:37 p.m.
PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE Vice Chairman Brennan led the Pledge of Allegiance.

APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES Vice Chairman Brennan presented the December 3, 2014 Minutes to the Commissioners
for changes or corrections. Commissioner Levy made a motion to accept the minutes, seconded by Commissioner Jensen.
There being no further additions or corrections, Vice Chairman Brennan accepted the Minutes.
REPORTS
A.Recreation & Human Services Activity Report-October/November Sjany Larson-Cash presented the report and
highlighted the Anaheim Fall Festival and Halloween Parade,
Reviews held at Glover Stadium, the Tiny Tots Academy, the Pearson Park Pool renovation completion, and the Anaheim
Holiday Boutique.
B.Parks Activity Report-November/December Larry Pasco presented the report and highlighted the renovation of baseball
fields at Boysen, Brookhurst and La Palma parks in preparation for High School Opening Day, the newly planted trees at
Ronald Reagan Park to replace the trees that were destroyed, and the recent tree plantings throughout many Anaheim
parks completed with the Cal Fire grant funding.
C.Park Ranger Patrol Statistics Report December: Sjany Larson-Cash presented the report and reported that Park
Rangers staff is working with Code Enforcement in tagging personal belongings that are left on park property. The owner
must claim their belongings within three (3) hours or it will be confiscated by Code Enforcement and stored by the Police
Department for a certain time period. Sjany Larson-Cash also highlighted that Boysen, Modjeska and Pearson parks had
the highest number of park patrons, and Anaheim Coves had the highest number of public contacts with Park Rangers.
Commission Anderson requested a status on the Homeless Property Storage located across the street from La Palma
Park. Sjany Larson-Cash stated the storage facility is currently highly utilized seeing as the Armory Emergency Shelter is
also open.
D.Parks Capital Project Progress Report Pamela Galera presented the report, provided updates and reported on the
following projects and answered questions regarding:
La Palma Dog Use Area Construction is substantially complete and dedication is scheduled for March 7.

Miraloma Park & Community Center Construction continues and dedication will be scheduled for spring 2015.
Paul Revere Park Park dedication was held on January 10.

Ponderosa Park Community Workshop is scheduled for February 4.

E.Senior Citizen Sub-Committee Report Commissioner Jensen reported the window coverings at the Senior Center are
still broken. Wendy Solorio stated City staff completed a walk-though with a contractor for repairs and are awaiting a
quote. Commissioner Jensen also reported the carpet in the waiting area at the Senior Center will be repaired in April
during the annual maintenance closure; and requested for staff to look into the possibility of a left-turn signal light being
installed at the Center Street signal light, intersecting Anaheim Boulevard. Sjany Larson-Cash stated the request will be
forwarded to the Traffic Engineer in the Public Works Department and an update will be given to the Commission when
received.
