98-013 RESOLUTION NO. 98R- 13 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM ADJUSTING RATES OF COMPENSATION AND ESTABLISHING PAY POLICIES FOR CLASSIFICATIONS DESIGNATED AS CONFIDENTIAL AND SUPERSEDING RESOLUTION NO. 94R-51 AND AMENDMENTS THERETO WHEREAS, the Human Resources Director has recommended in a staff report dated January 27, 1998, that the rates of compensation for Confidential job classes shall be adjusted as stated below; and WHEREAS, the City Council desires to adjust rates of compensation and establish pay policies for such job classes and supersede Resolution No. 94R-51 and amendments thereto; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Anaheim does find that adjusting these rates of compensation is in the best interest of the City of Anaheim. Schedule Number UFS U2 X UFS UFS UFS UFS UFS UFS U2 1847 1976 2090 1741 1741 1672 1563 1670 1756 1634 1528 Step Range A-E J-E J-E J-E J-E J-E J-E J-E J-E A-E A-E The City of Anaheim shall continue to pay a total of seven percent (7.0%) of the employee contribution to the Public Employees Retirement System for employees working in job classifications listed in Section 1 of this Resolution. Section 3. Employees required to speak, read and/or write in Spanish or other languages as well as English as part of the regular duties of their position will be compensated at the rate of sixty dollars ($60.00) per pay period in addition to their regular pay as provided under Personnel Rule 6, Premium Pay. Section 4. The regular hourly rate of pay and overtime compensation for employees working in job classes listed in Section 1 of this Resolution shall be computed as provided in Personnel Rule 5, Hours of Work and Pay Day and Personnel Rule 6, Premium Pay. The letter "X" preceding a salary schedule number indicates that employees working in that job class are exempt from overtime provisions as provided in Personnel Rule 6, Premium Pay. Section 5. The letter "U" preceding a salary schedule number indicates that employees upgraded to that job class shall be paid premium pay as provided below. To the extent that this Section is inconsistent with the actual wording contained in Personnel Rule 6, Premium Pay, the terms of this Section shall prevail. Employees upgraded to the job classes listed below shall be paid in accordance with Personnel Rule 6, Premium Pay, provided however, that a minimum of one (1) complete work shift or longer must be worked before payment will be made from the first day. Such job classes shall be designated in Section 1 of this Resolution by a "UFS" before schedule numbers. Employees hired to work on a part-time basis in any of the classifications listed in Section 1 of this Resolution will be compensated at a rate of pay established for the fulHime classification. Section 7. The provisions of this Resolution shall supersede Resolution No. 94R-51 and amendments thereto.
