The Community Services Board meeting was called to order at 5:36 p.m. by Chair Henninger. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE: 2. Chair Henninger invitedBoard Member Brio to lead the Board in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance. INTRODUCTION OF VISITORS & PUBLIC COMMUNICATION 3. A. Scheduled Public Communication: None B. Unscheduled Public Communication: None CORRESPONDENCE 4. A. Incoming: None B. Outgoing: None APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES: 5. Board Member Kelso made a motion to approve the minutes for the October 9, 2014, meeting; Board Member Barnett seconded the motion which passed unanimously. NEW BUSINESS: 6. A. October-November Activity Report: Joe Perez reviewed and highlighted events and activities that took place within the Recreation, Human Services and Neighborhood Services Division. Board Member Barnett asked a question about after-school programs for high-school students and Joe shared information about Anaheim Achieves and explained that they are looking to expand their program to more junior and high schools this coming year. He also shared that Community Services has expanded their teen programs to Brookhurst Community Center and Ponderosa Park Family Resource Center and that the Miraloma Park Family Resource Center is scheduled to open at the end of March. FY 2014/2015 CSB Liaison Assignments Site Visits: Chair Henninger asked the Board Members present for their preference for liaison assignments and then assigned the agencies as follows: Agency Board Member Acacia Adult Day Services Linda Barnett Access California Services Teresa Shimogawa AIDS Services Foundation Grant Henninger Anaheim Family YMCA Lynn Cudd Big Brothers/Big Sisters of OC Steve Brio Boys & Girls Club of Anaheim Roberto Baeza Community SeniorServ Steve Brio Council on Aging OC Kandee Beas Creative Identity Earl Kelso Illumination Foundation Earl Kelso Learning Light Foundation Becky Murphy Lestonnac Free Clinic Linda Barnett Mariposa Women & Family Anca Trifa YWCA of North Orange County Virginia Zlaket Joe Perez noted that he provided a list of contact information for all of the agencies as well as a list of potential liaison visit questions that the Board may refer to during their visits if they wish. B. FY 2015/2016 Public Service Funding Process: will be sent to the City Council at the end of the month and they will receive a copy of the memorandum. C. 2015 Meeting Calendar: Chair Henninger noted that the meeting schedule was included in the packet and asked Board Members if they would be interested in touring some City sites in June or July as has been done in the past. Joe Perez suggested the new Miraloma Park Family Resource Center and some other sites to the Board and they affirmed they would enjoy that. Board Member Beas noted that she will be out of town in June and July and possibly August. INFORMATIONAL ITEMS 8. : Board Member Kelso reminded everyone that the grand opening of Paul Revere Park will be held at 10:00 a.m. th on Saturday, January 10. Joe Perez announced that the Annual Volunteer Recognition Luncheon will be held this year on Wednesday, th March 18 at the City National Grove; Board Members will receive invitations by mail. Board Member Beas encouraged Board Members to attend if they are available as it is a very nice event. th Joe Perez also announced the grand opening of the La Palma Dog Park will be held on Saturday, March 7; the park is on the east side of La Palma Park by Lemon Street.
