2002-118RESOLUTION NO. 2002.~.- 118 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM APPROVING A LETTER OF UNDERSTANDING BETVVEEN THE ANAHEIM MUNICIPAL EMPLOYEES ASSOCIATION, GENERAL UNIT AND THE CITY OF ANAHEIM WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim and the Anaheim Municipal Employees Association, General Unit have met and conferred and reached and understanding regarding employee premiums for group term life insurance and dependent coverage; and WHEREAS, the Anaheim Municipal Employees Association, General Unit is in agreement with the recommendation contained in said Letter of Understanding; and WHEREAS, as a result thereof, the Letter of Understanding dated 05 / 28 / 02 between the parties has been prepared and signed; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Anaheim does find that it is in the best interest of the City of Anaheim to approve said Letter of Understanding. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Anaheim that the Letter of Understanding dated 05 / 28 /02 between the Anaheim Municipal Employees Association, General Unit and the City of Anaheim, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated by reference herein, is hereby approved. S TO O ,: ; ,CITYT~TTORItlEY OF THE CITY OF AN ~,z~ClEIM ~ H:\STAFFREP\SF6460LN LE1-FER OF UNDERSTANDING between the ANAHEIM MUNICIPAL EMPLOYEES ASSOCIATION, GENERAL EMPLOYEES and the CITY OF ANAHEIM The Anaheim Municipal Employees Association (AMEA), General Employees, and the City of Anaheim (ANAHEIM) after meeting and conferring, have reached an understanding regarding employee premiums for group term life insurance and dependent coverage. The PARTIES have reached an understanding as follows: Article 50.2.2 of the Memorandum of Understanding between the AMEA and ANAHEIM provides that Anaheim shall contribute one-half of the cost of the premium for group term life insurance and dependent coverage. It also provides that the employee shall contribute the difference between the Anaheim contribution and the total premium cost. AMEA and ANAHEIM agree that effective ]uly 1, 2002, the employee's contribution for the premium for group term life insurance for the employee shall be paid from the Life Insurance Rebate account. ANAHEIM shall continue to contribute one-half of the cost of the premium for dependent coverage and the employee shall continue to contribute the difference between the Anaheim contribution and the total premium cost for dependent coverage. AMEA and ANAHEIM agree that payment of the employee's contribution for the premium for group term life insurance from the Life Insurance Rebate account shall continue through June 30, 2006, or until the account is depleted, whichever occurs first.
