2002-137RESOLUTION NO. 2002R- 137 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM ADOPTING A NEW SCHEDULE OF SANITATION CHARGES WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Anaheim has established a policy to adopt all fees and charges to be collected within the City of Anaheim by resolution; and WHEREAS, the City Council has heretofore adopted Resolution No. 95R-112 establishing certain sanitation charges; and WHEREAS, the City Council desires to establish a new schedule of sanitation charges; and WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim has complied with the applicable notice and hearing requirements pertaining to fee revisions as set forth in the Government Code of the State of California; and WHEREAS, the new fees, if adopted, will not exceed the cost of providing the services, facilities or regulatory activity for which the fee is charged. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Anaheim that the following sanitation charges be adopted for the period commencing July 1, 2002: 1. RESIDENTIAL SOLID WASTE COLLECTION CHARGES (a) For standard collection (available to all residential dwelling units) consisting of one solid waste collection per week from 110 gallon containers, the sum of Fifteen Dollars and Fifty-Six Cents ($15.56) per dwelling unit per month. For each additional 110 gallon black trash barrel the sum of Eleven Dollars and Three Cents ($11.03) per month. For each additional 110 gallon brown yard waste barrel the sum of Seven Dollars and Seventeen Cents(S7.17) per month. (b) For standard collection (available to residential dwelling units where storage space or handling problems renders use of 110 gallon containers reasonably impractical) consisting of one solid waste collection per week from 60 gallon containers, the sum of Fourteen Dollars and Ninety Cents ($14.90) per dwelling unit per month. For each additional 60 gallon barrel the sum of Eleven Dollars and Three Cents ($11.03) per month. For each additional 60 gallon brown yard waste barrel the sum of Seven Dollars and Seventeen ($7.17) per month. (c) For bulk collection (available only to apartments, condominiums, and mobile homes which use the three cubic yard bulk containers supplied by the City's solid waste collection contractor), the volume base fee per dwelling unit per month shall be as follows: Pounds Per Unit Monthly Volume Base Fee Up to 35 $15.14 36 - 60 $15.73 61 - 80 $21.67 81 - 120 $22.01 121 + $22.46 (d) For bulk collection (available only to single family residences that generate waste in excess of the capacity of four standard 110 gallon containers) consisting of three yard bulk containers, the monthly fees listed in item 2(b) shall apply. (e) For special collection (available to residential dwelling units which generate solid waste of a character or quantity which requires special collection), the charges shall be the reasonable cost of the removal thereof as determined by the Public Works Operations Manager of the City of Anaheim. COMMERCIAL AND INDUSTRIAL SOLID WASTE COLLECTION CHARGES Solid waste collection services are available on a regularly scheduled basis to all commercial and industrial establishments. Such establishments include motels, hotels, recreational vehicle parks, restaurants, professional offices, club houses, places of entertainment, manufacturing plants, private schools, and any other organization or business whether of a service, wholesale or retail variety, including nonprofit organizations. (a) For standard collection (available to all commercial or industrial establishments) consisting of one solid waste collection per customer per week from a maximum of four disposable or reusable containers, the sum of Thirty-Seven Dollars and Fifty-Six Cents 2 ($37.56) per container per month. (b) For bulk collection (available only to establishments which use the three cubic yard bulk containers supplied by the City's solid waste collection contractor), the following monthly fees shall apply: Class of Service Frequency of Collections Monthly Charqe A B C D E F 1 per week 2 per week 3 per week 4 per week 5 per week 6 per week $115.55 $171.46 $227.40 $283.33 $338.72 $390.91 (c) For special collection (available to establishments which generate solid waste of a character or quantity which requires special collection), the charges shall be the reasonable cost of the removal thereof as determined by the Public Works Operations Manager of the City of Anaheim.
