A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ANAHEIM AMENDING CITY COUNCIL POLICY 1.5 OF
THE CITY COUNCIL POLICY MANUAL RELATING TO
THE CITY'S SPECIAL EVENT POLICY AND FINANCIAL
SUPPORT FOR CITYWIDE EVENTS
WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim has historically supported, through either in-
kind support or financial support, various community events throughout the year led by
various organizations working in partnership with the City; and
WHEREAS, by Resolution No. 2007-078, the City Council most recently
amended City Council Policy 1.5 entitled "Special Event Financial Support" to the City
Council Policy Manual; and
WHEREAS, in recent years, the City has been approached by a growing number
of organizations for new requests for financial support seeking either monetary assistance
or in-kind support for citywide events; and
WHEREAS, the City Council now desires to amend the City Council Policy
Manual to modify City Council Policy 1.5 with regard to the City's Special Event
Financial Support Policy.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED:
Council Policy No. 1.5 entitled, "Special Event Financial Support" is hereby deleted in its
entirety from the City Council Policy Manual and replaced with a new policy that seeks
to clarify, streamline and provide flexibility to our special events policy and the manner
in which we partner with community partners on events with citywide significance and
benefit.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and adopted by the City Council
of the City of Anaheim this 6th day of October, 2015, by the following roll call vote:
AYES: Mayor Tait and Council Members Murray, Brandman, and Vanderbilt
NOES: Mayor Pro Tem Kring
