RESOLUTION NO. 2015- 2 7 4 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM REQUESTING TEMPORARY CLOSURES TO CALTRANS I-5 OFFRAMPS FOR AVENGERS SUPER HEROES HALF MARATHON WHEREAS, the Avengers Super Heroes Half Marathon weekend is scheduled for November 13 — November 15, 2015; and WHEREAS, 14,000 runners and walkers will participate in this 13.1 mile course through the Disney theme parks and along City streets passing the Anaheim Convention Center, Angel Stadium, Interstate 5 (I-5), City of Garden Grove streets, City of Santa Ana streets; and WHEREAS, safety along the course will require an approximately four-hour temporary closure of I-5 ramp in the City of Anaheim at two locations; and WHEREAS, traffic control plans have been prepared, and a certificate of insurance has been prepared to the satisfaction of Caltrans; and WHEREAS, DISNEY agrees to reimburse Caltrans for the cost of the traffic closures. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Anaheim, that the City requests temporary closures of up to four hours on November 15, 2015, between 5:30 a.m. and 10 a.m. at 1) southbound I-5 HOV off -ramp at Gene Autry Way and 2) northbound I-5 HOV on-ramp at Gene Autry Way.
