RES-2016-148RESOLUTION NO. 2016- 148 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM REQUESTING TEMPORARY CLOSURES TO CALTRANS I-5 OFFRAMPS FOR DISNEYLAND HALF MARATHON WHEREAS, the Disneyland Half Marathon weekend is scheduled for September 1 — September 4, 2016 and WHEREAS, 18,000 runners and walkers will participate in this 13.1 mile course through the Disney theme parks and along City streets passing the Honda Center, Angel Stadium and Interstate 5 (I-5); and WHEREAS, safety along the course will require an approximately four and a half-hour temporary closure of I-5 ramps in the City of Anaheim at three locations; and WHEREAS, traffic control plans have been prepared, and a certificate of insurance has been prepared to the satisfaction of Caltrans; and WHEREAS, DISNEY agrees to reimburse Caltrans for the cost of the traffic closures. NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Anaheim that the City requests temporary closures of up to four and a half hours on September 4, 2016, between 5:30 a.m. and 10 a.m. at 1) southbound I-5 at Harbor Boulevard, 2) southbound I-5 at Disney Way, and 3) northbound I-5 at Katella Avenue.
