A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM AMENDING CITY COUNCIL POLICY 1.6 OF THE
CITY COUNCIL POLICY MANUAL RELATING TO THE MANNER
IN WHICH MEMBERS OF THE CITY COUNCIL MAY PLACE MATTERS
ON THE AGENDA OF A REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING AND RESCINDING
RESOLUTION NOS. 2012-031 AND 2013-151
WHEREAS, by Resolution 2012-031, the City Council added City Council Policy 1.6
entitled "City Council Regular Meeting Agenda Setting" to the City Council Policy Manual; and
WHEREAS, by Resolution 2013-151, the City Council amended City Council Policy 1.6
entitled "City Council Regular Meeting Agenda Setting" to the City Council Policy Manual; and
WHEREAS, the City Council now desires to amend the City Council Policy Manual to
amend City Council Policy 1.6 with regard to the manner in which the members of the City
Council may place items on a regular City Council meeting agenda.
WHEREAS, this Resolution will supersede Resolution No. 2012-031 adopted on April
17, 2012 and Resolution No. 2013-151 adopted on September 30, 2013.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:
Section 1. Policy No. 1.6 entitled "City Council Regular Meeting Agenda Setting" is
hereby deleted in its entirety from the City Council Policy Manual and replaced with the
following:
"Any member of the City Council may, during the City Council Communications
portion of a City Council meeting, request that an item be placed on a future City Council
agenda. So long as a majority of the Council does not object to such request, the item
will be agendized. The Mayor shall have the authority to place an item on a future
agenda outside of an open City Council meeting through the City Manager's Office.
Section 2. Resolution Nos. 2012-031 and 2013-151 is hereby rescinded in its entirety.
Section 3. This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon adoption.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and adopted by the City Council of the
City of Anaheim this 20'h day of December 2016, by the following roll call vote:
AYES: Mayor Tait and Council Members Vanderbilt, Barnes, Moreno,
Kring, and Faessel
NOES: Council Member Murray
ABSENT: None
ABSTAIN: None
