CALL TO ORDER: The Community Services Board meeting was called to order at 5:31 p.m. by Vice Chair
Murphy.
2. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE: Vice Chair Murphy invited Board Member Brio to lead the Board in reciting
the Pledge of Allegiance.
3. INTRODUCTION OF VISITORS & PUBLIC COMMUNICATION:

5. APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES: Board Member Barnett made a motion to approve the October 13, 2016
meeting minutes; Board Member Licerio seconded the motion; the motion passed with six (6) ayes and one (1)
abstention from Board Member Zlaket.
6. NEW BUSINESS:
A. CSB Site Visit Schedule: Joe Perez provided a list of current organizations that received CDBG funding
this fiscal year along with contact information and guidelines for board members to complete site visits by
June 2017. A discussion was held to determine which board members will visit which organization. The
following was decided:

• Anaheim YMCA
• Big Brothers Big Sisters of OC
• Boys and Girls Club of Anaheim

A. FY2017/2018 CDBG Public Service Funding Process: Joe Perez stated a memorandum of the preliminary
funding recommendations for FY2017/18 cycle will be submitted by the Community Services Director,
Brent Dennis, to the City Manager/City Council. Attached to the memo will be a spreadsheet of funding
recommendations with three funding levels. Staff has not received information regarding funding allocation
to the City of Anaheim, but should receive communication by April 2017. Joe Perez reported Community
Development will setup a CDAC (Community Development Advisory Committee) meeting to approve the
budget recommended by CSB and Chair Cudd and Vice Chair Murphy will be invited to attend. Once the
funding allocation is received, Joe Perez will communicate the funding recommendation with each
organization and invite them to attend the CDAC meeting. Community Development will approve a budget,
which will then go to City Council for approval in May 2017. A copy of the memorandum will be given to
the board members.
