PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE: Chair Cudd invited Board Member Barnett to lead the Board in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance. 3. INTRODUCTION OF VISITORS & PUBLIC COMMUNICATION: A. Scheduled Public Communication: None. B. Unscheduled Public Communication: Brent Dennis, Community Services Director, thanked the Board Members for their service to the Community Services Board. Current Board Members will receive notification of the changes of the Board. The new appointments will be announced at the April 25t' City Council meeting. The Board discussed the changes and the public workshop that was held in regards to changes being made to the City's Boards and Commissions. Brent Dennis reminded the Board Members of the Volunteer Recognition Luncheon on March 15'. 4. CORRESPONDENCE A. Incoming: None B. Outgoing: None 5. APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES: Board Member Kelso made a motion to approve the January 12, 2017 meeting minutes; Board Member Barnett seconded the motion; the motion passed with six (6) ayes. 6. NEW BUSINESS: A. CSB Site Visit Schedule: Board Member Leonard completed a site visit with Acacia Adult Day Services. The facility is well used and has a partnership with the Orange County Transportation Authority. There are daily activities scheduled Monday through Friday that include arts and crafts, showing of movies, and food provided by SeniorServ. The organization is looking into more collaboration with other organizations to maximize resources. Board Member Kelso completed a site visit with Community SeniorServ. The organization continues to serve the Anaheim Senior community and is need of volunteers to assist with the deliveries. ITEM NO. 01 Community Services Board March 9, 2017 Page 2 Joe Perez stated Chair Cudd will not have to complete site visits. Hi Hopes Discovery did not apply for funding for FY 2017/18 and AIDS Services will be switching their recommendation to receive funding from a different source. 7. UNFINISHED BUSINESS: A. FY 2017/2018 CDBG Public Service Funding Process Joe Perez stated funding allocation has not been received and will notify the Board once it is received. Brent Dennis submitted a memorandum for FY 2017/18 funding recommendations to the City Manager and City Council. The Chair and Vice Chair will notified once the Community Development Advisory Committee (CDAC) provides a meeting date to review and approve the Budget submitted by the Board. 8. INFORMATIONAL ITEMS: Board Member Kelso attended the grand re -opening of the Police Sub -Station on Beach Boulevard and represented the Police Chief's Neighborhood Advisory Council. The event was well attended. Vice Chair Murphy reported the new playground has been installed at Imperial Park. Vice Chair Murphy was one of the many volunteers who helped install the new playground at the KaBOOM! event. Joe Perez provided a copy of the funding recommendation memorandum submitted to the City Manager and City Council. Wendy Solorio reported the annual Citywide Food Drive in partnership with Second Harvest Food Bank will be held March 13-24t' at 11 locations that include community centers, police stations, libraries and City Hall. Wendy Solorio also reported the 3' Annual Anaheim Community Information and Resource Fair will be held on April 22"d in the open area between the Downtown Anaheim Community Center and Downtown Anaheim Youth Center. Joe Perez stated agencies that serve Anaheim are invited to participate in the event. Board Member Kelso questioned if movie night events will be scheduled this year. Joe Perez stated the Family Resource Centers will be hosting movie nights at the community centers and the schedule will be provided to the Board. Board Member Barnett questioned if the City is assisting Bruno Serato, owner of the White House Restaurant, with the meals for motel families. Joe Perez stated a local restaurant, Highway 39, is providing the kitchen for the program. The Christ Cathedral also offered assistance. The community has come together to continue to support the program. Chair Cudd reported the Volunteer Recognition Luncheon will be held on March 15t''. Joe Perez stated it begins at 12pm at the City National Grove. The Board will be seated together. 9. ADJOURNMENT: Chair Cudd adjourned the meeting at 6:15 p.m.
