A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF ANAHEIM ADOPTING A
POLICY TO COMMIT GENERAL FUND
SURPLUS TO THE COMMUNTY
WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim is committed to providing the necessary space
and activities that allow for both physical and mental stimulation to enhance the well-being of
our citizens; and
WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim is committed to ensuring Anaheim
neighborhoods continue to prosper; and
WHEREAS, it is a priority of the City of Anaheim to invest in the City's parks,
community centers and neighborhoods; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City
of Anaheim that the City of Anaheim hereby adopts a policy to prioritize at least 25% of any
General Fund surplus at the end of each fiscal year, to be committed for community and
neighborhood improvements, provided there are sufficient resources available in the City's
General Fund Five -Year Forecast and that reserves will remain at or above 7% of General Fund
expenditures.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and adopted by the City Council
of the City of Anaheim this 12' day of September,2017 by the following roll call vote.
AYES: Mayor Tait and Council Members Vanderbilt, Murray, Barnes, Kring and Faessel
