Community Services 2017/12/14MINUTES COMMUNITY SERVICES BOARD Downtown Anaheim Community Center, 250 Center St., Anaheim, California BOARD MEMBERS PRESENT: Kandee Beas, Chair Earl Kelso, Vice Chair Donna Acevedo -Nelson Arturo Querijero-Ferreras Tierra Wilson BOARD MEMBERS ABSENT: Lori Farrow - Excused December 14, 2017 STAFF PRESENT: Joe Perez, Community Services Superintendent Eleanor Granflor, Sr. Secretary AGENDA ACTION TAKEN CALL TO ORDER: The Community Services Board meeting was called to order at 5:33 p.m. by Chair Beas. 2. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE: Vice Chair Kelso led the Board in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance. 3. UNSCHEDULED PUBLIC COMMUNICATION: None. CORRESPONDENCE: a) EMAIL COMMUNICATION — LAURIE LEONARD RESIGNATION: Joe Perez reported Laurie Leonard has resigned from the Community Services Board and noted that the City Council will go through the process of appointing a new Board Member. 5. APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES: Chair Beas presented the September 14, 2017 Minutes to the Board Members for changes or corrections. Board Member Querijero-Ferreras made a motion to approve the September 14, 2017 meeting minutes, seconded by Vice Chair Kelso. The motion was approved with a unanimous vote; Chair Beas accepted the minutes. UNFINISHED BUSINESS: a) FY2016/2017 CDBG Performance Report: Joe Perez presented the FY2016/2017 CDBG Performance Report and answered questions. b) FY2017/2018 CDBG Public Service Funding Process — Mid -Year Agency Presentations: Joe Perez introduced Acacia Adult Day Services representative, Debbie Kaiser, who reported the current status of the agency and answered questions. Debbie Kaiser also reported the organization is currently merging with Alzheimer's of Orange County. Joe Perez introduced Access California Services representative, Ameera Basmadji, who reported the current status of the agency and answered questions. Joe Perez introduced Anaheim Family YMCA representative, Ann Trovada, who reported the current status of the agency for both the Youth Sports and Youth Swim programs and answered questions. Joe Perez stated Mid -Year Presentations will resume in February 2018. Community Services Board December 14, 2017 Page 2 c) FY2018/2019 CDBG Public Service Agency Funding Process: Joe Perez stated a total of 20 program applications from 18 distinct non-profit agencies are eligible for funding. A copy of the applications were provided to the Board. Presentations will be scheduled by staff made by representatives from the non- profit agencies in January 2018. At the conclusion of the agency presentations, the CSB will formulate a funding recommendation to City Council in March/April 2018. INFORMATIONAL ITEMS: Joe Perez invited the Board to the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for the Ponderosa Park Family Resource Center on December 19. ADJOURNMENT: Chair Beas adjourned the meeting at 6:28 p.m.
