AGENDA ACTION TAKEN
1. CALL TO ORDER: The Community Services Board meeting was called to order at 5:33 p.m. by Vice Chair
Kelso.
2. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE: Board Member Wilson led the Board in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance.
3. UNSCHEDULED PUBLIC COMMUNICATION: None.
4. SCHEDULED COMMUNICATION: None.
5. APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES: Vice Chair Kelso presented the December 14, 2017 Minutes to the Board
Members for changes or corrections. Board Member Querijero-Ferreras made a motion to approve the
December 14, 2017 meeting minutes, seconded by Board Member Acevedo -Nelson. The motion was
approved with four (4) ayes and one (1) abstention by Board Member Farrow; Vice Chair Kelso accepted the
minutes.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS:
a) FY2018/2019 CDBG Public Service Agency Funding Presentations: The Board listened to presenations
and asked questions of the following agencies:
• YWCA of North Orange County - Youth Employment Services
• Boys and Girls Club -Youth Program
• Taller San Jose (also known as Hope Builders) - Workforce Training Program
• Mariposa Women and Family Center - Substance Abuse Treatment
• Mariposa Women and Family Center - Family Counseling Program
• Lestonnac Free Clinic - Medical Clinic Services
• Learning Light Foundation -Adult Development Program
• Hi Hopes Identity Discovery Foundation - Therapeutic Arts Program for Developmentally Disabled
• Goodwill Industries of Orange County - Emergency Funds for Veterans
7. INFORMATIONAL ITEMS: Joe Perez invited the Board to the Grand Opening of the Ponderosa Park Family
Resource Center and Gymnasium on January 27.
8. ADJOURNMENT: Vice Chair Kelso adjourned the meeting at 8:05 p.m.
