• AN ORDIM NCE OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM AMENDING
TITLE 18, CHAPTER 18.38, SECTIONS 18.38.020
AND 18.38.040 OF THE ANAHEIM MUNICIPAL CODE,
RELATING TO ZONING.

THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM DOES ORDAIN AS
SECTION 1.
That Title 18, Chapter 18.38, Section 18.38.020 of the
Anaheim Municipal Code be, and the same is hereby amended to read
as follows:
"SECTION 18.38.020 PERMITTED BUILDINGS, STRUCTURES AND
USES.
"Subject to the provisions of this zone, the following
buildings, structures and uses, either singly or in
combination, may be permitted in the Commercial -Office
Zone. Uses other than automobile parking lots shall
be conducted wholly within a building. In the interests
of assuring land use compatibility and the preservation
of the development resources within Anaheim's office areas,
no combination of residential and commercial use shall be
permitted in any structure, nor shall any structure designed
or intended for residential use be used for commercial
activity except as provided in Section 18.38.040.

SECTION 2.
That Title 18, Chapter 18.38, Section 18.38.040 of the
Anaheim Municipal Code be, and the same is hereby amended by

adding thereto Paragraph (3) reading as follows:
'SECTION 18.38.040 CONDITIONAL USES. -

(3) The office use of a structure designed or intended
for residential use may be permitted provided that
said use shall expire on January 1, 1969, at which
time the use will be reviewed for termination or
extension:.of_time, subject to the following
provisions:
(A) Uses shall be limited to those specifically
listed in Section 18.38.020.
(B) All exterior alterations shall be subject to
review and approval by the Development Review
Committee of the Building` -and Planning Depart-
ments as provided -in Section -18.38.050(9).
(C) All structures shall conform to all provisions
of Fire Zone No. 2, except as modified, in whole
or in part, by the Fire Chief of -the City of
Anaheim. - - -
(D) The required front setback of the residential
structure shall be maintained and landscaped in
accordance with the provisions of Section
18.38.050 (2)-(E). All parking shall be provided
to the rear of the residential structure.
(E) That all vehicular access rights to abutting
arterial streets and highways shall be dedicated
to the City of Anaheim.In those area's where there
are no existing alleys, temporary access rights
may be permitted in conjunction with a Conditional
Use Permit, until such time as vehicular access is
provided in accordance with the provisions of an
adopted Area Development Plan.
(F) No free standing or wall sign in excess of eight
square feet shall be erected on the property
without prior permit of the City Council.
(G) All site development standards of this Chapter
shall be complied with. In addition, the City
Planning Commission and/or City Council may'impose-_
such additional conditions as may be necessary t.o--..
comply with the purposes of this Title." -
SECTION 3. _-
The City Clerk shall certify to the passage=- of this
nance and shall cause the same to be printed once w4hip-`f4-`
(15) days after its adoption, in the Anaheim Bulletinsnewaper
of general circulation, printed, published and circulafed_iii-.5Bid
City, and thirty (30) days from and after its final passage it
shall take effect and be in full force.
THE FOREGOING ORDINANCE is approved and signed by me
this 7th day of April, 1964.
