A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM
APPROVING THE FILING OF AN APPLICATION FOR GRANT FUNDS
FOR EAST ANAHEIM AMERICAN LITTLE LEAGUE AND THE
AYSO REGION 28 SOCCER LEAGUE
WHEREAS, the Legislature and Governor of the State of
California have approved funding of a grant for the operational
costs for the East Anaheim American Little League and the AYSO
Regional 28 Soccer League, hereinafter referred to as "Grant
Projects"; and
WHEREAS, the California Department of Parks and Recreation
has been delegated the responsibility for the administration of
the Grant Projects, including the establishment of necessary
procedures; and
WHEREAS, said procedures established by the California
Department of Parks and Recreation require the Grantee to certify
by resolution the approval of applications before submission of
said applications to the State; and
WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim proposes to submit an
application to obtain the funding for the Grant Projects; and
WHEREAS, an important public purpose will be fulfilled in
obtaining the funding for East Anaheim Little League and AYSO
Soccer, Region 28 by providing recreational opportunities for
children residing in and adjacent to the City of Anaheim; and
WHEREAS, as the Grantee, the City of Anaheim will enter into
a contract with the State of California to administer the Grant
Projects in accordance with the application and the "Procedural
Guide For Local Grant Projects Funded by legislative Grants from
Various Sources" (hereinafter "Procedural Guide").
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the
City of Anaheim does hereby:

Approve the filing of an application by the City of
Anaheim for local assistance for the Grant Projects;
Certify that the City of Anaheim, as Grantee,
understands the assurances and certification in the
application form;
o
Certify that Grantee has reviewed and understands the
General Provisions contained in the proposed Project
Contract shown in the Procedural Guide; and
o
Appoint the City Manager of the City of Anaheim, or his
designee, as agent to conduct all negotiations, execute
and submit all documents including, but not limited to,
applications, agreements, payment requests and so on,
which may be necessary for the completion of the
aforementioned Grant Projects.
