AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM
AMENDING THE ZONING MAP REFERRED TO
IN TITLE 18 OF THE ANAHEIM MUNICIPAL
CODE RELATING TO ZONING AND MAKING
FINDINGS IN CONNECTION THEREWITH.
(RECLASSIFICATION NO. 2018-00311)
(DEV2018-00020)
WHEREAS, following a duly noticed public hearing held on April 16, 2018, pursuant to
the provisions of Chapter 18.60 of the Anaheim Municipal Code, the Planning Commission of the
City of Anaheim did adopt its Resolution No. PC2018-024, determining that a change or changes
in the zone should be made to rezone or reclassify all City -owned park properties in the City of
Anaheim, County of Orange, State of California, as depicted on the maps attached hereto as Exhibit
A and incorporated herein by this reference and which shall be referred to herein by this reference
(the "Properties"), from existing zones to the "PR" Public Recreation Zone, which reclassifications
are designated as "Reclassification No. 2018-00311 ", for the purpose preserving City -owned park
land for the enjoyment of Anaheim Residents. Reclassification No. 2018-00311 is proposed in
conjunction with General Plan Amendment 2018-00519; and
WHEREAS, by adoption of its Resolution No. PC2018-024 and pursuant to the provisions
of CEQA, the State CEQA Guidelines, and the City's Local CEQA Procedure Manual, the
Planning Commission determined that these actions are exempt from the California Environmental
Quality Act under Section 15060(c)(2) of Title 14 of the California Code of Regulations. These
actions are exempt because they will not result in a direct or reasonably foreseeable indirect
physical change in the environment. The sites that staff is requesting to be reclassified in the
Zoning Code to the Public Recreational (PR) Zone are existing park sites. Therefore, the proposed
action will not result in identifying any additional or new sites as proposed or preferred park sites.
Nothing in the proposed actions commits the City to constructing specific new parks or any
improvements to existing parks. All future uses and/or park improvements will be conditioned on
CEQA compliance on a Iproject-by-project basis pursuant to CEQA Guidelines Section
15004(b)(2), which will be coordinated with the existing planning, review and project approval
processes; and
WHEREAS, upon the City Council's approval of General Plan Amendment 2018-00519,
the proposed rezoning is consistent with the Anaheim General Plan's Parks land use designation
for the Properties.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM DOES ORDAIN
AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1.
That the Zoning Map referred to in Title 18 of the Anaheim Municipal Code be, and the
same is hereby, amended by rezoning and reclassifying the subject Properties, as described
above, into the "PR" Public Recreation Zone.
SECTION 2.
The City Zoning Map shall be, and the same is hereby, amended and the above-described
Properties shall be excluded from the zone(s) in which they are now situated and incorporated in
and made a part of the zone or zones as above set forth, and said City Zoning Map, as amended,
is hereby adopted and the Planning Department is hereby directed to revise the City Zoning Map
showing the changes hereby approved and adopted.
SECTION 3. CERTIFICATION
The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this ordinance and shall cause the same to
be printed once within fifteen (15) days after its adoption in the Anaheim Bulletin, a newspaper
of general circulation, published and circulated in the City of Anaheim, and thirty (30) days from
and after its final passage, it shall take effect and be in full force.
THE FOREGOING ORDINANCE was introduced at a regular meeting of the City
Council of the City of Anaheim held on the 12 day of June , 2018, and thereafter
passed and adopted at a regular meeting of said City Council held on the 1 9th day of
June , 2018, by the following roll call vote:

Vanderbilt, Barnes, Kring, and Faessel
