CALL TO ORDER: The Community Services Board meeting was called to order at 5:35 p.m. by Chair Beas. 2. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE: Chair Beas led the Board in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance. 3. UNSCHEDULED PUBLIC COMMUNICATION: None. 4. SCHEDULED COMMUNICATION: None, 5. APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES: Chair Beas presented the March 8, 2018 Minutes to the Board Members for changes or corrections. Vice Chair Kelso made a motion to approve the March 8, 2018 meeting minutes, seconded by Board Member Querijero-Ferreras. The motion was approved with 5 ayes and one abstention by Chair Beas; Chair Beas accepted the minutes. 6. UNFINISHED BUSINESS: 1) FY2017/2018 CDBG Public Service Funding Process - Mid -Year Agency Presentations: Diane Masseth-Jones, with YWCA of North Orange County, presented current agency information and answered questions regarding youth employment services. 2) CSB Site Visitations: Joe Perez provided a list of current organizations that received CDBG funding this fiscal year along with contact information for board members to complete site visits by June 2018. A discussion was held to determine which board members will visit each organization. The following was decided: • Acacia Adult Day Services Board Member Farrow • Access California Services Vice Chair Kelso • Anaheim YMCA Board Member Querijero-Ferreras • Big Brothers Big Sisters of OC Board Member Wilson • Boys and Girls Club of Anaheim Board Member Acevedo -Nelson • Community SeniorSery Board Member Querijero-Ferreras • Council on Aging OC Board Member Higgins • Creative Identity Chair Beas • Dayle McIntosh Center Vice Chair Kelso • Hi Hopes Discovery Board Member Wilson • Learning Light Foundation Board Member Farrow • Lestonnac Free Clinic Board Member Querijero-Ferreras • Mariposa Women & Family Board Member Acevedo -Nelson • YWCA of NOC Chair Beas Community Services Board April 12, 2018 Page 2 3) FY2018/19 CDBG Public Service Funding Process: Joe Perez stated that City staff is still awaiting for information on the federal funding allocation to the City of Anaheim. An informational memorandum will be submitted to the City Manager/City Council to inform them of the preliminary funding recommendation provided by the CSB. The funding recommendation will go to the Housing and Community Development Council for approval and Chair Beas and Vice Chair Kelso will be notified of this meeting to attend and represent the recommendation and answer any questions. Non-profit agencies will be invited to attend and can speak in support or opposition of the funding recommendation. 7. INFORMATIONAL ITEMS: Board Member Querijero-Ferreras reported there will be an "Annual Celebration of Day of the Child" event on April 27th at the Ponderosa Park Family Resource Center and Gymnasium. Chair Beas reported the Ebell Club of Anaheim, an organization that supports education, will be hosting a fundraising event on May 51h to raise money for scholarships for Anaheim High School students. There will be a Mother Colony Garden Tour of eight homes and tickets are available for $15. Vice Chair Kelso reported Love Anaheim will be hosting a "Volunteer Day" event on April 28th Board Member Wilson reported the WAND BBQ will be held on April 28th at Maxwell Park. Joe Perez reported a Health Fair will be held on May 19th at Ponderosa Park Family Resource Center. Various non- profit organizations will be setup at the Health Fair to provide resources to the community. Board Member Higgins reported the five little leagues in Anaheim will be representing Little League Day at the Angels Game on April 22nd. 8. ADJOURNMENT: Chair Beas adjourned the meeting at 6:26 p.m.
