CALL TO ORDER: The Community Services Board meeting was called to order at 5:38 p.m. by Chair Beas. 2. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE: Board Member Kelso led the Board in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance. 3. UNSCHEDULED PUBLIC COMMUNICATION: None. 4. SCHEDULED COMMUNICATION: a. Introduction of New Board Member, Paula Schuerger: Joe Perez introduced Paula Schuerger. Paula Schuerger gave a brief overview of herself. b. Introduction of Community Services Director, Larry Pasco: Joe Perez introduced Larry Pasco. Larry Pasco gave a brief overview of himself and his history with the City. 5. APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES: Chair Beas presented the August 9, 2018 Minutes to the Board Members for changes or corrections. Vice Chair Kelso made a motion to approve the August 9, 2018 meeting minutes, seconded by Board Member Querijero-Ferreras. The motion was approved with 4 ayes and 2 abstentions by Board Members Acevedo-Nelson and Schuerger; Chair Beas accepted the minutes. 6. UNFINISHED BUSINESS: a. FY2018/2019 CDBG Public Service Funding Cycle: Joe Perez provided an update on the FY2018/2019 CDBG Public Service Funding Cycle. Allocations are estimated to be received in the spring 2019. b. FY2019/2020 CDBG Funding Process Update: Joe Perez provided an update on the FY2019/2020 CDBG Funding Process. He noted the deadline for the submission of funding applications was October 31, 2018. A total of 15 non-profit agencies submitted requests for funding of 16 different programs total. The oral presentations are scheduled for January 10 and 17, 2019 but given the election cycle, this may change. The baseline allocation that was approved this year will be used for the 2019/2020 cycle, $288,331. 7. INFORMATIONAL ITEMS: Board Member Kelso reported a Veterans Day event will be held on November 10, across the MUZEO. Community Services Board November 8, 2018 Page 2 Board Member Acevedo-Nelson reported there is a Police Review Board meeting will be held November 8 at 6pm at the Anaheim West Tower, Gordon Hoyt Conference Room. Joe Perez indicated there will be no new business to present at the next scheduled Community Services Board meeting in December. The Board agreed to go dark in December. The CSB will resume their meetings in January 2019. 8. ADJOURNMENT: Chair Beas adjourned the meeting at 5:55 p.m.
