A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM
SUPPORTING THE 2020 CENSUS PARTNERSHIP
WHEREAS,the U.S. Census Bureau is required by the U.S. Constitution to conduct a
count of the population every ten years and the City of Anaheim is committed to ensuring every
resident is counted; and
WHEREAS,the Census guides, in part, how more than$675 billion in federal funding is
distributed to states and communities each year; and
WHEREAS, information from the 2020 Census is a vital tool for economic development
and increased employment; and
WHEREAS,the 2020 Census create jobs that stimulate economic growth and increase
employment opportunities in the City of Anaheim; and
WHEREAS,the information collected by the 2020 Census is confidential for 72 years
and protected by law; and
WHEREAS,the City of Anaheim, in partnership with other local governments,the State,
businesses, and community organizations, is committed to ensuring every resident is counted.
NOW THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Anaheim affirms its commitment to
partnering with the U.S. Census Bureau and hereby support the goal for the 2020 Census and
will disseminate 2020 Census information.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City of Anaheim hereby encourages all residents to
participate in events and initiatives that will raise the overall awareness of the 2020 Census and
increase participation.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City of Anaheim will support census takers as they help
our City complete an accurate count and will strive to achieve a complete and accurate count of
all persons within the City of Anaheim.
