A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ANAHEIM AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO
EXECUTE AND FILE A BICYCLE/PEDESTRIAN
FACILITIES CLAIM APPLICATION FOR THE FISCAL
YEAR 1989-90 WITH THE ORANGE COUNTY
TRANSPORTATION COMMISSION PURSUANT TO PUBLIC
UTILITY CODE SECTION 99233.3
WHEREAS, in 1973, the California State Legislature
amended the Transportation Development Act by the adoption of
Public Utility Code Section 99235.5 which provides that two
percent (2%) of each County's total Local Transportation Fund be
set aside annually and be made available to the cities and
counties for facilities provided for the exclusive use of
pedestrians and bicycles.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of
the City of Anaheim does hereby express its desire and willingness
to participate in the proposed project for the construction of
pedestrian and bicycle facility improvements pursuant to Public
Utility Code Section 99233.3 and in accordance with procedures
adopted by the Orange County Transportation Commission.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager of the City
of Anaheim be, and he is hereby, authorized to execute and file on
'behalf of the City of Anaheim a Pedestrian Facilities Claim
Application for the Fiscal year 1989-90 with the Orange County
Transportation Commission for funds available for pedestrian and
bicycle facilities.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and adopted by the
City Council of the City of Anaheim this 9th day of May ,
1989.
