A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ANAHEIM AUTHORIZING THE PAYMENT
OF A REWARD FOR INFORMATION LEADING TO THE
CONVICTION OF A PERSON WILLFULLY DAMAGING
OR DESTROYING PROPERTY NOT HIS OWN BY THE
USE OF GRAFFITI.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Anaheim desires
to continue its efforts to deter or abate graffiti and upgrade the
aesthetic quality of the City; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of California
Government Code Section 53069.5, a local agency may offer and pay
a reward for information leading to the apprehension of any person
who willfully damages or destroys property·
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Anaheim as follows:

The payment of a reward in the amount of Five Hundred
Dollars ($500.00) is hereby authorized for information
leading to the arrest and conviction of any person who
willfully damages or destroys public or another person's
private property in the City of Anaheim by the use of
graffiti·

The Finance Director is hereby authorized and directed to
pay such reward from any appropriation created for such
purpose to each person who gives such information,
provided that a claim therefor is filed with the Finance
Director within sixty (60) days after conviction and that
such claim is approved by the City Attorney.

Only one such Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00) reward shall
be payable by the City for each conviction. In the event
more than one person claims such reward for any
conviction, the Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00) reward
shall be divided equally among the total number of
persons providing information resulting in such
conviction as determined by the City. The City shall
have sole and absolute discretion in making any
determination regarding (a) whether to pay any reward,
(b) to whom payment shall be made, and (c) any other
matters relating to the provisions of this resolution.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and adopted by the
City Council of the City of Anaheim this 23friday of May, 1989.
