A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ANAHEIM APPROVING THE APPLICATION
FOR YOUTH GANG DRUG PREVENTION SERVICES
WHEREAS, the Department of Health and Human Services
Administration for Children, Youth, and Families, Office of Human
Development Services (ACYF) has available funds for youth gang
drug prevention; and
WHEREAS, these funds are available to conduct community
based, comprehensive, and coordinated activities to reduce and
prevent the involvement of at-risk youth in gangs that engage in
illicit drug-related activities; and
WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim supports the purpose of the
ACYF Discretionary Youth 6ang Drug Prevention Program which is to
assist communities in controlling the spread of gang and
drug-related activities through the prevention, early
intervention, and diversion of at-risk youth from gang membership.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Anaheim that:
1. The filing of an application for Office of Human
Development Services Funds, is hereby approved; and
2. The City of Anaheim will provide a matching
contribution of twenty-five percent (25%) in cash or in-kind
services; and
3. The City Manager is hereby appointed as the City of
Anaheim's representative to conduct all negotiations, execute and
submit all documents, including but not limited to, applications
and amendments which may be necessary for the completion of the
aforementioned application.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and adopted by the
City Council of the City of Anaheim this 6%h day of June, 1989.
