A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ANAHEIM SETTING FORTH LOCAL
CONDITIONS JUSTIFYING AMENDMENTS TO THE
UNIFORM PLUMBING CODE, 1988 EDITION.
WHEREAS, Health and Safety Code Section 17958.5
provides for the City to make changes or modifications in the
Uniform Plumbing Code, 1988 Edition, as are reasonably necessary
because of local conditions; and
WHEREAS, Health and Safety Code Section 17958.7
requires the City Council to make express findings of the
necessity for modifications in the Uniform Plumbing Code before
adopting such changes; and
WHEREAS, the Chief Building Inspector of the City of
Anaheim has recommended that the Uniform Plumbing Code, 1988
Edition, be adopted by the City with certain modifications and
amendments which are required by local climatic, geographical or
topographical conditions.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the modifications
recommended by the Chief Building Official, are hereby found to be
necessary on account of local conditions as follows:
Sections 15.50.001 through 15.20.014 and Section 15.30.3000
of the Municipal Code. These amendments are administrative
in nature and adopt the 1988 Uniform Plumbing Code by
reference as well as make it compatible with other codes
enforced by the City of Anaheim.
Section 15.20.910 of the Anaheim Municipal Code. This
amendment requires that all kitchen and food processing
facilities be provided with garbage disposals. The reason
for this amendment is that the Sanitation Division of the
City of Anaheim does not provide pick up of wet garbage.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution,
together with the Ordinance adopting the Uniform Plumbing Code as
amended, be filed with the State Department of Housing and
Community Development.
