A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
ANAHEIM APPROVING THE CLOSURE OF KENSINGTON
AVENUE BETWEEN TEMPLE STREET AND PARTRIDGE
STREET IN THE CITY OF ANAHEIM TO THROUGH
VEHICULAR TRAFFIC.
OF
WHEREAS, Kensington Avenue between Temple Street and
Partridge Street in the City of Anaheim is a public street; and
WHEREAS, a request has been received by the City Council
of the City of Anaheim to close Kensington Avenue to through
vehicular traffic between Temple Street and Partridge Street in
the City of Anaheim; and
WHEREAS, the City Council hereby finds that Kensington
Avenue between Temple Street and Partridge Street is no longer
needed for through vehicular traffic for the following reasons:
Engineering studies conducted in said area show traffic
volumes to be much higher that the residential character
of the neighborhood should reasonably have to bear.
Residents have complained about the increase in noise and
general congestion on said street resulting from such
excessive traffic.
3. ~he configuration of both Temple Street and Partridge
Street allows access to and from Orangethorpe Avenue.
4. The connective street, Temple Street, is not needed for
any type of ingress and egress from either direction.

NOW, THEREFOR, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the
Anaheim hereby approves the closure of Kensington Avenue
Temple Street and Partridge Street in the City of Anaheim.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Engineer is hereby
authorized and directed to cause tile erection, installation and
maintenance of traffic control devices and barriers, at the
location and of a type approved by the City Engineer, to
accomplish said street closure.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and adopted by the
City Council of the City of Anaheim this7thd~y of June, 1988.
