88-197RESOLUTION NO. 88R- 197 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM ADOPTING A NEW SCHEDULE OF FEES AND SERVICES PURSUANT TO THE NATIONAL ELECTRICAL CODE. WHEREAS, the City Council, pursuant to Resolution No. 87~R-422, adopted a fee schedule for electrical permits related fees; and and ~HEREAS, the City Council does desire to adopt a new fee schedule; and WHEREAS, the City Council bas considered said fee increases at a public meeting notice of which has heretofore been given in the manner required by Section 54992 of the Government Code and at which meeting oral and written presentations were invited and considered concerning said fee and service charge increases; and WHEREAS, the City Council hereby finds that the hereinafter specified fees and service charges do not exceed the estimated amount required to provide the service for which the fee or service charge is levied. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Anaheim that the following fee schedule be, and the same is hereby, adopted: "I. Electrical Permit Fees The fee for each electrical permit shall be as follows: Electrical Permit ........................... $15.00 Supplemental Electrical Permit .............. $ 4.50 II. New Residential Construction In addition to the Electrical Permit Fee required by I, the fees for new residential construction shall be as follows: a. Multi-family residential buildings (apartments, motels, hotels, and condominiums) having three (3) or more living units but not including the area of garages, carports and automobile storage areas, constructed at the same time, per square foot ............................................. $ .05 b. Single family and two (2) family residential buildings not including the area of garages, carports and minor accessory buildings constructed at the same time, per square foot ........................... $ .035 c. Garages, carports, parking structuresper square foot ..................................... ~ .010 III. Swimming Pools; Spas In addition to the Electrical Permit Fee required by I, the following fee shall apply: Swimming pools and spas including a complete system of branch circuit wiring, bonding, grounding, underwater lighting, water pumping, and other electrical equipment directly related thereto...$30.O0 IV. Unit Fee Schedule In addition to the Electrical Permit Fee required by I, the following fees shall apply to any electrical installation not covered by I-IV: Unit Fee Schedule Receptacle, Switch and Lighting Outlets: For receptacle, switch, lighting or other outlets at which current is used or controlled, except services, feeders and meters. First twenty (20), each .................... $ .75 Additional outlets, each ................... $ .45 Note: For multioutlet assemblies, each five (5) feet or fraction thereof may be considered as one (1) outlet. Lighting Fixtures: For lighting fixtures, sockets or other lamp-holding fixtures: First twenty (20), each .................... $ .75 Additional fixtures, each .................. $ .45 For pole or platform-mounted lighting fixtures, each ........................... $ .75 For theatrical-type lighting fixtures or assemblies, each ...................... $ .75 -2- Residential Appliances: For fixed residential appliances or receptacle outlets for same, including wall-mounted electric ovens; counter-mounted cooking tops; electric ranges, self-contained room, console, or through- wall air conditioners; space heaters; food waste grinders; dishwashers; washing machines; water heaters; clothes dryers; or other motor-operated appliances not exceeding one (1) horsepower (HP) in rating, each ................................. $ 3.00 Note: For other types of air conditioners and other motor-driven appliances having larger electrical ratings, see Power Apparatus. Nonresidential Appliances: For nonresidential appliances and sel£-contained factory-wired, nonresidential appliances not exceeding one (1) horsepower (BP), kilowatt (KW), or kilovoltampere (KVA), in rating including medical and dental devices; food, beverage, and ice cream cabinets; illuminated show cases; drinking fountains; vending machines; laundry machines; or other similar types of equipment, each ......................................... $ 3.00 Note: For other types of air conditioners and other motor-driven appliances having larger electrical ratings, see Power Apparatus. Power Apparatus: For motors, generators, transformers, rectifiers, synchronous converters, capacitors, industrial heating, air conditioners and heat pumps, cooking or baking equipment and other apparatus, as £ollows: Rating in horsepower (tiP), kilowatts kilovolt-amperes (KVA), or kilovolt-amperes-reactive (KVAR): Up to and including one (1), each .......... $ 3.00 Over one (1) and not over ten (10), each...$ 7.50 Over ten (10) and not over fifty (50), each ..................................... $15.00 Over fifty (50) and not over one hundred (100), each .............................. $30.00 Over one hundred (100), each ............... $45.00 -3- Note: 1) For equipment or appliances having more than one (1) motor, transformer, heater, etc., the sum of the combined ratings may be used; and 2) These fees include all switches, circuit breakers, contractors, thermostats, relays and other directly related control equipment. Busways: For trolley and plug-in-type busways, each one hundred (100) feet or fraction thereof .................................... 4.50 Note: Att additional fee will be required for lighting fixtures, motors and other appliances that are connected to trolley and plug-in type busways. No fee is required for portable tools. Signs, Outline Lighting and Marquees - To Be Issued On Sign Permits: For signs, outline lighting systems or marquees supplied from one (1) branch circuit, each .............................. $15.00 For additional branch circuits within the same sign, outline lighting system or marquee, each .............................. $ 3.00 Services: For services of six hundred (600) volts or less and not over two hundred (200) amperes in rating, each .................... $18.50 For services of six hundred (600) volts or less and over two hundred (200) amperes to one thousand (1,000) amperes in rating, each ....................................... $57.50 For services over six hundred (000) volts or over one thousand (1,000) amperes in rating, each ............................... $75.00 Miscellaneous Apparatus, Conduits and Conductors: For electrical apparatus, conduits and conductors for which a permit is required but for which no fee is herein set forth ..... $11.00 Note: This fee is not applicable when a fee is paid for one (1) or more services, outlets, fixtures, appliances, power apparatus, busways, signs or other equipment. -4- the Other Inspections and Fees: Inspections outside of normal hours (minimum charge two [2] business hours) ..... 930.00 per hour 2.
