A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ANAHEIM APPROVING THE FMPLOYMENT OF MARTIN MITCHELL
IN THE CAPACITY OF CHIEF OF POLICE UNDER THE
PROVISIONS OF SECTION 21151(g) OF THE GOVERNMENT
CODE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA.
WHEREAS, the position of Chief of Police of the City of Anaheim has
been vacant since December 31, 1987; and
WHEREAS, Martin Mitchell, a retired City of Anaheim Police employee,
has been acting in the capacity of Chief of Police for the City of Anaheim
under the provisions of section 21153 of the Government Code of the State of
California; and
%THEREAS, the need exists to continue the employment of Martin
Mitchell beyond the t~me limitations set forth in section 21153 of the
Government Code of the State of California until such time as a permanent
appointment ~s made to the position of Chief of Police of the City of Anaheim.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Anaheim that the employment of Martin Mitchell in the capacity of Chief of
Police meets the requirements of section 21151(g) of the Government Code of
the State of California in that the appointment is to a position of limited
duration requiring specialized skills.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Anaheim
that the employment of Martin Mitchell in the capacity of Chief of Police is
only to fill a temporary vacancy until such tlme as a permanent appointment is
made to the position of Chief of Police of the City of Anaheim.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and adopted by the City Council
of the City of Anaheim this ]qfh day of April , 1988.
