A RESOLUTION OF THE CiTY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ANAHEIM AUTHORIZING THE DIVERSION
OF TRAFFIC FROM CONGESTED STREETS.
WHEREAS, Section 21101.2 of the California Vehicle
Code authorizes local authorities to adopt rules and regulations
to permit diversion of traffic from congested streets; and
WHEREAS, such congested traffic conditions may occur
from time to time.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that any peace
officer, designated iii writing by the Chief of Police of the City
of Anaheim, may order diversion of traffic (excepting public
safety or emergency vehicles) from a street or highway, or portion
thereof, if that officer determines that either:
1)
The traffic load on a street or highway or portion
thereof is such that little or no vehicular flow is
occurring; or
2)
A significant number of vehicles is not promptly
moving when an opportunity to so move arises.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and adopted by
the City Council of the City of Anaheim this 20th day of December ,
1988.
