A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ANAHEIM AUTHORIZING SUBMITTAL OF AN
APPLICATION TO THE CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF
WATER RESOURCES FOR A LOCAL GROUNDWATER
ASSISTANCE GRANT, DESIGNATING THE PUBLIC
UTILITIES GENERAL MANAGER AS ANAHEIM'S
AUTHORIZED REPRESENTATIVE, AND AUTHORIZING
THE PUBLIC UTILITIES GENERAL MANAGER TO
EXECUTE AND SUBMIT THE APPLICATION AND
RELATED DOCUMENTS AND TO TAKE ANY AND ALL
ACTIONS NECESSARY TO COMPLETE THE APPLICATION
PROCESS
WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim (Anaheim) wishes to submit an application to
the California Department of Water Resources for a Local Groundwater Assistance Grant; and
WHEREAS, the California Department of Water Resources requires that an
application be authorized by the City Council of Anaheim and that an Authorized Representative
be designated by Anaheim to submit the loan application on behalf of Anaheim.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Anaheim as follows:
1. Submittal of the application by Anaheim to the California Department of Water
Resources for a Local Groundwater Assistance Grant pursuant to the Local Groundwater
Management Assistance Act of 2000 (Water Code section 10795 et seq.) and to enter into an
agreement to receive such grant for the closure of abandoned water wells is hereby authorized
and approved.
2. The Public Utilities General Manager is hereby designated as Anaheim's
Authorized Representative and is authorized, directed and empowered, on behalf of Anaheim, to
execute and submit an Application for said grant, to prepare the necessary data, to make
investigations, and to execute an agreement with the California Department of Water Resources
to accept such grant, together with any related documents and actions necessary to complete the
application and grant acceptance process.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and adopted by the City Council
of the City of Anaheim this 13th day of January, 2004.
