A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ANAHEIM AUTHORIZING THE FIRE CHIEF, OR HIS
DESIGNEE, TO ACCEPT A NO-MATCH GRANT AWARD ON
BEHALF OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM FROM THE
DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY FOR THE
FISCAL YEAR 2019 STAFFING FOR ADEQUATE FIRE AND
EMERGENCY RESPONSE (SAFER) AND TO EXECUTE ALL
REQUIRED GRANT DOCUMENTS.
WHEREAS,the Federal Emergency Management Agency of the U.S. Department
of Homeland Security (the "Grantor") has heretofore invited public agencies, including the City
of Anaheim, to submit applications for the FY 2019 Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency
Response (SAFER) grant program(the "Grant"); and
WHEREAS, on May 15, 2020 the Fire Chief for the City of Anaheim, by and
through his designee, submitted an application on behalf of the City of Anaheim to the Grantor for
said Grant; and
WHEREAS, in response to that Grant application, the City of Anaheim was
awarded Six Million Thirty-Five Thousand Six Hundred Eighty-Eight Dollars ($6,035,688) in
Grant funds by the Grantor; and
WHEREAS, the City is familiar with the terms, conditions and limitations of the
Grant; and
WHEREAS,the City is willing and able to conform to each of the terms,conditions
and limitations imposed upon the City of Anaheim pursuant to the Grant.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Anaheim as follows:
1. The City Council of the City of Anaheim hereby agrees to, and by this
Resolution, does accept the Six Million Thirty-Five Thousand Six Hundred Eighty-Eight Dollars
($6,035,688) in Grant funds awarded to the City without further action of the City Council being
required therefore.
2. The City of Anaheim hereby agrees to comply with each and all of the
terms, conditions and limitations imposed by the Grantor upon said Grant, and the Fire Chief, or
his designee, hereby authorized and directed to execute any agreements, assurances, or other
documents that are required or necessary in connection with the acceptance or implementation of
the Grant.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and adopted by the City Council
of the City of Anaheim this 6th day of October , 2020, by the following roll
call vote:
AYES: Mayor Sidhu and Council Members Faessel, Barnes, Brandman,
Moreno, Kring, and O'Neil
