87-051RESOLUTION NO. 87R-51 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM REJECTING THE ONLY BID RECEIVED FOR THE PEARSON PARK GRANDSTAND/PICNIC SHELTER IMPROVEMENT PROJECT IN THE CITY OF ANAHEIM, ACCOUNT NOS. 16-820-7107-20080, 16-820-7107-20081, 16-820-7107-2012C and 2S-820-7107-20060. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Anaheim did cause to be published in a newspaper of general circulation, published and circulated in the City of Anaheim, to wit: The Anaheim Bulletin, on the 8th and 15th days of January, 1987, a notice inviting sealed proposals for furnishing the following: Ail plant, labor, services, materials and equipment, and all utilities and transportation, including power, fuel and water, and performing all work necessary to construct and complete in a good ~nd workmanlike manner, in strict accordance with the specifications, plans and drawings therefor on file in the Office of the City Engineer or City Clerk of the City of Anaheim, the following public improvement, to wit: Pearson Park Grandstand/Picnic Shelter in the City of Anaheim consisting of the demolition and removal of existing grandstand and barbecue structures; removal and reconstruction of existing concrete slabs at picnic shelters; re-roofing; construction of a new grandstand; and installation of new barbecue structures and sinks; all appurtenant work as shown on the plans and delineated in the specifications on file in the office of the City Engineer, Account Nos. 16-820-7107-20080, 16-820-7107-20081 and 16-820-7107-2102C and 25-820-7107-20060, in accordance with the design, plans, profiles and specifications of said public improvement on file in the Office of the City Clerk of the City of Anaheim; and Gorham 92705, WHEREAS, one and only one bid was received from The Company, Inc., 1404 S. Ritchey "A," Santa Ana, California in the amount of $410,548.00; and WHEREAS, said bid received for this project was significantly higher then the estimate and the funds available; and WHEREAS, the City Council finds it is in the best interests of the City of Anaheim to reject the above-mentioned bid. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Anaheim that the bid from The Gorham Co., Inc. in the amount of $410,548.00 be, and it is hereby, rejected. THE City Council 1987.
