87-090RESOLUTION NO. 87R-90 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ANAHEIM APPROVING AN AMENDMENT TO THE SAFETY AND SEISMIC SAFETY ELEMENT AND TEXT OF THE ANAHEIM GENERAL PLAN DESIGNATED AS AMENDMENT NO. 214-III, EXHIBIT "I-A." WHEREAS, the City of Anaheim, pursuant to the recommendations of the Planning Commission of the City of Anaheim, f*---~- adopted a General Plan for the City of Anaheim; and /~. 2nd February--corrected ~8 WHEREAS, on the ~7~ day of ~aq=~h, 1987, the Planning Commission of the City of Anaheim did hold a public hearing to consider a General Plan Amendment. The General Plan Amendment does consider changing the safety and seismic safety element of the General Plan for the area of land bordered to the north by the Southern California Edison easement generally located parallel to and north of Katella Avenue; to the west by the Santa Aha Freeway; to the east by the Santa Aha River Channel; and to the south along the Anaheim city limit; and WHEREAS, at said public hearing, the City Planning Commission did duly adopt its Resolution No. PC87-28 containing a report of its findings, a summary of the evidence presented at said hearing, and recommending that said Amendment to the General Plan designated as Amendment No. 214-III be adopted by the City Council changing the safety and seismic safety element of the General Plan for the aforedescribed area to show a fire station designation on Pacifico Avenue between the Santa Ana Freeway and State College as shown on Exhibit I-A; and WHEREAS, upon receipt of said Resolution, summary of evidence, report of findings and recommendations of the City Planning Commission, the City Council did fix the 17th day of March, 1987, as the time, and the City Council Chamber in the Civic Center as the place for a public hearing on said proposed Amendment No. 214-III and did give notice thereof in the manner and as provided by law; and WHEREAS, the City Council did duly hold and conduct such public hearing and did give all persons interested therein an opportunity to be heard, and did receive evidence and reports and did consider the recommendations of the City Planning Commission; and WHEREAS, the City Council hereby finds and determines: 1. That evidence was presented which substantiates the need for an amendment to the Safety and Seismic Safety Element, to show a fire station designation on Pacifico Avenue between the Santa Ana Freeway and State College Boulevard as shown on Exhibit I-A. 2. That the text of the Safety and Seismic Safety Element be amended as follows: PAGE 99, CHANGE THE THIRD PARAGRAPH UNDER FUTURE OUTLOOK, PLANNING AREA B TO READ: FROM: "That a fire station be constructed in the general area of Katella Avenue and Douglas Street. This location would better serve the high-value properties and projected high-rise complexes around the Anaheim Stadium configuration; and," TO: "That a fire station be constructed on Pacifico Avenue between the Santa Ana Freeway and State College Boulevard. This location would serve the high-value properties and projected high-rise complexes within the Anaheim Stadium Business Center; and," NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Anaheim that Amendment No. 214-III to the General Plan changing the safety and seismic safety element of the General Plan for the aforedescribed area in accordance with Exhibit "I-A" on file with the City be, and the same is hereby, approved. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Planning Department be, and it is hereby, instructed to amend the General Plan Map and Text to conform to General Plan Amendment No. 214-III as herein adopted and approved. THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and adopted by the City Council of the City of Anaheim this 17th day of March, 1987.
