A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ANAHEIM SUPPORTING THE COUNTY OF
ORANGE IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF A HAZARDOUS
WASTE MANAGEMENT PLAN.
WHEREAS, the presence of hazardous substances and
hazardous wastes in the County of Orange creates a potential
threat to public health and safety; and
WHEREAS, the Legislative has passed AB2948, the Tanner
Bill, which authorizes cities and counties to adopt plans for the
management and ultimate disposal of hazardous wastes generated
within their boundaries; and
WHEREAS, the County of Orange is in the process of
preparing a hazardous waste management plan and seeks the support
and participation of ail cities within the County in that process.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the

Second, recover and recycle the remaining waste for
reuse.
Third, treat those wastes not amenable to source
reduction or recycling so that the environment and community
health are not harmed by their ultimate release or disposal.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that, in light of the policy
stated above, the City of Anaheim endorses the Tanner process and
offers its support and participation to the County of Orange in
preparation of a hazardous waste management plan.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and adopted by the
City Council of the gity of Anaheim this 28thday of April, 1987.
