A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ANAHEIM VACATING A PUBLIC UTILITY EASEMENT FOR
ELECTRICAL PURPOSES AT THE NORTHWEST CORNER OF
KATELLA AVENUE AND EUCLID STREET. (87-12A)
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Anaheim did,
by resolution duly adopted, declare its intention to vacate
certain public streets, highways or public service easements
pursuant to the Public Streets, Highways and Service Easements
Vacation Law; and
WHEREAS, notice of a public hearing to consider said
vacation was posted and published in the manner prescribed by law;
and
WHEREAS, on the 15th day of September, 1987, a public
hearing was held to allow interested persons to submit evidence
concerning said proposed vacation; and
WHEREAS, the City Council does find, from the evidence
submitted, that the street, highway or public service easement
hereinafter specifically described is unnecessary for present or
prospective public purposes including nonmotorized transportation
facilities.
WHEREAS, if and to the extent that there are in place
public utility facilities in use for which easements are not
reserved and excepted by this resolution, the City Council hereby
determines that the public convenience and necessity requires that
no easements be reserved for such facilities.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of
the City of Anaheim does hereby order the vacation of that public
utility easement for electrical purposes, more specifically
described as follows:
A strip of land 10 feet in width, lying within that
portion of the Southeast quarter of the Southeast
quarter of Section 20, Township 4 South, Range 10
West, in the Rancho Los Coyotes, City of Anaheim,
County of Orange, State of California, described as
follows:
Beginning at the southwest corner of Lot 22 of Tract
No. 2176 as shown on a Map recorded in Book 59, pages
34 and 35 of Miscellaneous Maps, records of said
Orange County; thence along the southerly line of
Lots 22 and 21 of said Tract No. 2176; thence S 89
degrees 05' 00" E, 70.00 feet; thence Southeasterly
48 feet to a point hereinafter referred to as Point
"A", distant Easterly 111 feet, measured at right
angles, from the westerly line of Lots 24 through 28
of said Tract No. 2176; thence Southerly and parallel
with said westerly line, a distance of 105 feet to
the point of terminus.
Also, a strip of land 10 feet in width, the
centerline of said strip being described as follows:
Beginning at said Point "A"; thence N 0 degrees 44'
10" E, 25 feet, to the point of terminus.
Excepting therefrom the Northerly 5.00 feet of said
lO-foot strips of land.
Said easement was granted to Southern California
Edison Company by deed recorded September 10, 1959 in
Book 4875, page 266 of Official Records. The City of
Anaheim acquiared it as successor.
BE Il FURTHER RESOLVEB that the vacation authorized by
this resolution shall not be effective until a certified copy of
this resolution is recorded in the Office of the Recorder of
Orange County.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk be, and she
is hereby, authorized and directed to cause a certified copy of
this resolution to be recorded in the Office of the Recorder of
the County of Orange.
THE FOREGOING RESOLUTION is approved and adopted by the
City Counci! of the City of Anaheim this 15th day of September
1987. '
