A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF ANAHEIM AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 81R-151
RELATING TO PERSONNEL RULE 7, APPOINTMENTS AND PROMOTIONS
WHEREAS, the Human Resources Director has recommended in a staff
report dated September 29, 1987 that Personnel Rule 7, Appointments and
Promotions, be amended to include language that permits part-time employees to
be appointed to vacant full-time positions in equivalent classifications, and
WHEREAS, as a result thereof, the need exists to amend Resolution
No. 81R-151 which establishes Personnel Rule 7, Appointments and Promotions,
and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Anaheim does find that the
recommended change to Personnel Rule 7, Appointments and Promotions, is in the
best interests of the City of Anaheim.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Anaheim that Resolution No. 81R-151 be amended by adding the following:
7.01 Notwithstanding any other provision of this Personnel Rule 7,
vacant positions in the classified service may be filled by
appointing part-time employees currently employed in part-time
classifications with full-time equivalent classifications.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that except to the extent amended, Personnel
Rule 7, Appointments and Promotions shall remain unchanged and Resolution No.
81R-151 shall remain in full force and effect.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the effective date of this resolution
shall be August 25, 1987.
